I disagree.Creating hype, and getting a few guys to flip are cool but don’t mean much, besides creating forum fodder, and fuel for the debate shows/podcasts, prime a showman so the hype there, he can sell the sizzle, but… he’s going to have to start selling the steak too. Being a glorified recruiter and hype man is cool, but it’s plenty of coaches that can/have done this, Remember Sumlin ? Les Miles ? Colorado has fallen on tough times, but they’ve had good seasons, he hasn’t done anything yet except create hype
Coaches hate televised spring games, so Deion getting one filmed was not the incredulous task you paint
When i say chitlin circuit, no one is putting their hands together to pray for the Colorado job, they have a bad location, no proximity talent, and low commitment to football, Deion would literally fit like a glove in the sec, he knows how to be a showman and glad-hand, and can make you fill important when you aren’t, he start winning in Colorado, he won’t be long for those boulder sidelines, so i expect him to move up
Which part ? Why ?I disagree.
I’ll break it down in a few but in short its clear to Colorado is commintting hard to football giving him 5 mil a year. He start winning and that shyt’ll be upped just like Mel Tucker was.Which part ? Why ?
That's going to be a major long term issue. Hard to beat out the SEC schools at any consistent rate to convince kids to leave their home region to play 1000 miles away. Same with the midwest. I'm not sure how well they'll be able to recruit the "non skill" positions too, in order to build out the trenches. I also don't think Deion really wants to be there more than 3-4 years. If he has success, he's jumping ship immediately for a bigger program. I've always said I could see him at Oregon, FSU...or another school that is strong/solid recruiting grounds (Baylor? TTU? UCLA?), but isn't a "traditional power" where they'll not appreciate his showmanship.Creating hype, and getting a few guys to flip are cool but don’t mean much, besides creating forum fodder, and fuel for the debate shows/podcasts, prime a showman so the hype there, he can sell the sizzle, but… he’s going to have to start selling the steak too. Also, He’s shown by the amount of talent reaching out to him that proximity doesn’t matter. Not even just that but we’ve seen Utah, TCU, Boise, Baylor, etc. all go on sustained runs of success and they never were at the top of recruiting rankings.
I think way more kids would want to go play for Prime and be a part of what he’s doing there than to play for a specific school as we see with Travis & Tramani.
A 2 year run?I think they realized after Mel they had to get it together, but they were literally begging alums to get the money up to get Carl up out the paint early, and to come together to get prime paid, so i don’t know how much they will be committed to this, and for how long (add to the fact the commish fukked up the tv money and no big draw from y’all so no telling what this contract will look like)
As for right now we seen a bunch of cast offs that came to play, and that one kid was flip flopping so much, but in the end being a corner and Deion's platinum mouf piece (pause) he can sell something very specific that’s not applicable to other positions
Utah gets a lot of pacific islands Mormons so these kids are a lot older than the avg college kid, and this is a two year run how often do you think they will do this over the next 10 years ?
Baylor had a brand new scheme a good qb and took gambles on problematic kids
Tcu is in Texas so that’s the heart of talent
Boise made their run from cast off Cali talent or longer projects and ridiculously good coaching but they were/are playing in the mountain west and have been having trouble as of lately dominating the mountain west
I say all this to say, we have to wait and see, and other programs functions were specific to their situation, i know Deion can sell ice to an Eskimo but can he win, on a different level and we will see
A 2 year run?
Utah has been a very good program since Urban was there

CU still refers to Mel Tucker as "midnight" and never hesitated to be on some ish w/ him, let's see how they treat Deion.
I meant as far as making it to the pac chip/winning itA 2 year run?
Utah has been a very good program since Urban was there
They’re definitely up there……Only Achiles Heel was Clay Helton at homeMight be the most underrated program in all CFB
So you apply this same logic to Michigan?I meant as far as making it to the pac chip/winning it
No one counts the mwc days
4 double digit winning seasons since 2011 they’ve been good not great
It’s a few folks who said cu is very And the surrounding areas
The closest areas with big dudes in surplus is Texas and some parts of Cali and Arizona
So how do you convince the Texas talent to come to boulder ? What about Cali ?
Deions gon the first major offer from a bigger school, believe that so 2 years 3 at the most i suspect
So you apply this same logic to Michigan?
Also never said great, Said very good.
My homie i graduated chiropractic school with lives in Denver he’s doing wellThat’s bc there’s no back folk out there, I’ve been to CO multiple times and it’s def the case, there’s obv exceptions, but as a whole those cities don’t have A high black population or history.
The black folk I met out there were mostly upper middle class and assimilated into suburbia
They been in the conference like 10 yearsOne of these schools just won the conference for the first time ever
Isn’t a historical program
And the top of their conference outside of another foe
Last year Oregon collapsed late with injuries
And this previous year they took y’all to the wire because no defense but do you expect Utah to be a contender for pac chips for the next ten years if the conference remained the same ?
