Suggs and Chet went to high school together

I feel like that'll matter
The tea leaves overwhelmingly favor Chet.

Suggs' teammate
lanky as fukk which Hammond loves
could make Orlando's defense go from decent to elite.

The issue I have is that their best scorer in reality shouldn't start for them, so if they get Chet, you have a lot of 13-14 ppg scorers, but nobody who will get you 20+ every night, let alone multiple ones. Hammond needs to trust that he's been drafting the right guys up to now and can handle someone like Banchero who might score 20 a night in the NBA but will be ass cheeks defensively. And since everyone and their mother is so worried about Chet getting banged up, Banchero won't feel like the injury risk that the rest of the lineup is.

Now, the happy compromise would be Jabari Smith, so I can't dismiss that completely.

You don't like Johnny Davis too much, or just too many wings ahead of him ?

Watched a lot of big ten this year, he's really good

Not even the wings ahead of him. This year has a lot of teams who have SG's and guys masquerading as one.

I guess he could sneak in if Mathurin has a crappy draft process, but Indiana doesn't need another SG. Portland has Simons, Pelicans have Ingram, McCollum, Jones, Murphy, the Spurs feel like they've drafted the same type of player for years now. Washington still has Beal. The Knicks perhaps, but if Alec Burks is still running PG for them next season it's gonna be a wasted pick. Maybe OKC, but he'd merely be depth there and Charlotte has Bouknight.

A lot of overlap that doesn't open up until 15-24.

Weaver needs to do all his homework on Sharpe because the idea is that he could be top 3 next year if he bowed out, but he's a wild unknown, so if he sucks, now you have TWO Killian Hayeses.

The way it shook out, at least Mathurin is safe enough to pair with Cunningham and feel happy about it.
Sometimes you have to take the risk to be great. Shaedon is an unknown like you said but if I HAVE to pick at 5 it’s going to be him or Ivey. Last year before the lottery it was everywhere that Weaver loves Bouknight who fits that same athletic guard archetype he been rumored to love (another Russ) so Ivey and Sharpe fits…Mathurin does too in a way but Mathurin would just be another player that needs his offense generated for him by Cade…If we gonna go safe and scared of making a mistake trade it and get a piece to go with Cade rather than reaching for mid .

I agree.

Now, Weaver was around when many thought they reached for Westbrook, but then the following year, they played it a bit safer with Harden.

As we learned in the tourney, Mathurin can get busy when he's on his game. Sharpe has 2 weeks to the day to withdraw (I doubt it even though he claims he's thinking about it).

If Weaver doesn't think Sharpe can help them much next year, he passes because he already has his guy in Cade and needs to optimize his development the next couple of yearsl

I think Mathurin is better than that. Not that he'll be any sort of elite creator, but he's not strictly a straight line driver.

I think he'll be alot better defensively than he's shown too

Terrence Ross with a handle honestly feels like the perfect comp for him, and in today's NBA that's a really good player

I never really thought about Harden being the safe pick the next draft but you right . It’s crazy to think that because how he turned out but I see what you mean .

No way I would go back if I was sharpe because I might get exposed like Brandon Boston or just be put in a weird spot like Zaire Williams . I 100% would take the bag .

I wish watched more Zona (and west coast bball in general) than what I did so I could have a real breakdown on him but he did show flashes like you said in the tourney so I can’t really argue against that .

Wish I watched ANY GLeague too like I did last year and the year before so I could have a real opinion on Dyson Daniels .Only time I watched him was during that ASW thing and he didn’t look out of place at all…but that’s a fancy exhibition..Hope ESPN + got some of his games in their archive ..Zona games too

T-Ross with a handle is my favorite comparison with guards like that . I believe if Ross ever had a good enough handle to go with that bounce he had( still has ?) and his shot that developed he would’ve been a dope ass player . It never really happened so he just settled as a decent role player ..which scares me with guys that a just a handle away
