There were ppl who didn't think Luka would be a superstar either bc he wasn't athletic and was an inconsistent jump shooter
Whoa whoa whoa stop the clock Luka was so far ahead for his age many considered him the greatest euro prospect ever some felt he might not but the number one pick but oversees he was getting Lebron like hype

If you say that LaMelo has a high ceiling, then you can say it about literally anyone else who's eligible for a draft though. Just ignore everything negative and say that it actually represents limitless growth potential.

He shot 25% from 3 - and he shoots at a high volume because he's literally afraid of actually playing out a whole possession against a defense that's set up to meet him :dead: middle schoolers do that shyt. Not elite playmaking point guards. Dude is throwing passes that a LOT of people can make in scrimmages and low end leagues.

He 6'7 and frail with average as fukk explosion. Doesn't even know what to do offensively between the paint and 3 point line aside from throw up sad floaters.

He either can't play defense except once every 10 minutes of floor time or flat out refuses to do so. Never heard of off-ball play either.

If it wasn't for Lonzo and Lavar, nobody would be paying attention to some kid who went from AAU to Lithuania to the JBA to Australia.

To be fair :hubie: Kemba deserved a lot of that on until that completely out of nowhere increase in his 3pt% and he learned how to play PG without relying in Al Jeff as the #1 option or a passer at the wing to free him up whenever he got pressed in the PnR.

He was overpaid until suddenly he wasn't - and now he's overpaid again but not our problem :mjlol:

I don't hate any player though. Maybe Pat Bev
This is legit one of the most hating azz posts I’ve seen

Citing a shooting % from a 12 game sample size :mjlol:

Saying anyone can throw the passes that he does :mjlol:

Calling his floater sorry when his floater is actually great and he can score with it past the FT line :mjlol:

Saying he plays defense once every 10 minutes when he’s a well above average rebounding guard, jumps the passing lanes, pick pockets, and when engaged can be solid on the ball. He’s playing PG at 6’8 with a 6’10.5 wingspan and he has instincts that will be a strength with added body and focus in no time.

Never heard of off the ball play yet had good catch and shoot numbers and was an instinctual cutter when he did play off the ball, another thing that could be a strength if he’s paired with a secondary ball handler.

It’s gonna be nice bumping this thread in 3 years :russ:

"when engaged" is a pretty big issue when he's gonna be expected to be engaged most if not all the time. That's an issue with Edwards and Wiseman too, so it's just something where if you have the culture to cultivate talent, then he can be unlocked, but if not, then he's just gonna be a waste of time.

I just think he's gonna be frustrating as hell those first couple of years.

I’m just not seeing it with Killian Hayes. He’s heavily mocked to my Pistons. Other than his age he doesn’t seem that impressive. Even his highlight reels are meh. Not great athlete, shooter, passer and played in weak foreign league. I’d put Kira, Hampton or Anthony in same category or above. None sure fire future starters but Atleast Hampton has elite athleticism, Kira has elite speed, and Anthony has an Alpha mentality.

Hope rumors about Patrick Williams having promise from Pistons is true. Take players with highest ceilings. fukk needs when your roster is this trash
I'd take Hayes, but if the Pistons are drafting Williams, then y'all are really all in on this team being good in 2023 because with Doumbouya and Williams, y'all are G-Leaguing it in the NBA. Those kids are raw.

Troy Weaver does like his athletes though.

what's the fascination with obi toppin?

bruh is the most stiff player ive ever seen. even his athletic plays are stiff. let me find out he's another kevin knox :picard:
Don't compare Obi to Knox :smh: Ice Cube at least once in his life can say he was the best player on a court. Knox could never. That's his biggest problem. He doesn't know what it's like to be really good at his craft and it shows. I've been telling that to Knicks fans since he's been there. Send him to Westchester just so he can walk off the court with his head held high. Not to copy the Swagnificent eye test, but Knox has the permanent :sadcam: face. How can you build with him as a cornerstone guy?

THIS. Three fukk we worried about drafting a PG when the whole team is trash. They not some borderline contender that's one player away. There's no point in drafting a role player before you have the star That you know what roles you need to surround him with. shyt for the Stars and if you miss you end up with the same yeah we been getting anyway, but at least you tried. I don't know a lot about these players this year cause I didn't watch much college ball beyond some State games, but if they really do another Luke Kennard, where they draft to address a low ceiling need, vs getting a player with more potential, it tells me a whole lot.

And that's how it should be. This team is headed absolutely nowhere as currently constructed. No assets in regards to extra draft picks or young talent. Stan Van set these team bank hella years with his time here. Abd they better not trade no high draft picks to move up and draft Ball either. Just tighten your belts, play the youth, and enjoy the ride of shytty seasons hopefully to a hometown hookup of Bates in a few years. Lord knows we're owed one at this point.

Looks like the Wolves are giving up on Jarrett Culver already
