I expected to take Jalen Smith but with Halliburton still on the board I can't pass that up. Halliburton for the spurs please
U bash wiseman but want this athletically deficient bum?I've been scanning through full games of Avdija over the last few weeks (FIBA, EuroLeague, IPL) and dude is legit, even more so than I initially thought.
He seemingly makes the right play on every possession, on both ends. He has an incredible understanding and level of activity off-the-ball to get himself open, identifies when to take advantage of mismatches (even in the post) and when to feed the hot-hand, runs the break like a man possessed, can interchange between a primary and secondary initiator extremely well, finishes strong, has a BBIQ well beyond his years (impressive discipline on defense, particularly in terms of verticality and knowing when to make the right rotation to provide help), and has mental toughness seeping out his skin.
Deni is Warriors basketball. Wiseman is not.U bash wiseman but want this athletically deficient bum?
I remember after dirk became a big thing, teams started to reach for euro players like crazy with disastrous results. I get it luka is fantastic, Deni is not fantastic or specialDeni is Warriors basketball. Wiseman is not.
And that's another discussion, altogether, whether or not he's worth using the top-2 pick on. The ideal scenario would be trading down for depth and still being able to pick him, but it's hard seeing him still being on the board past Chicago/Cleveland.Like I said, I won't be mad if we end up with Deni. But if so, I hope we traded down and got something else of value too.
Neither you nor I know how he'll transition into the league. It's completely pointless making an assertion like this all because he's a Euro. You're just simply working on the logic that 'only 1 in every 10 Euro players lives up to expectations', and not anything to do with his actual play.I remember after dirk became a big thing, teams started to reach for euro players like crazy with disastrous results. Man, I really hope Chicago is dumb enough to throw us Carter for a few spots in the draft... I like Wiseman more than anyone else in this draft. But I'd be more than happy to trade back if we ended up with some additional pieces to go along with Hayes or Okongwu
I’ve seen enough to see he struggles to beat his man off the dribble. His shots seems ok when wide open. He’s definitely not doing luka type things out there. When I see prospects I always look at what can they consistently fall back on to make a impact. How many games of his have you watched
I haven’t really watched him play, I was genuinely curious how much you’ve watched him to determine he ain’t it. Most people thought Doncic wouldn’t be athletic enough to create offense for himself either, not to say it won’t be true for Deni though. Doncic always had high level playmaking to fall back on though.I’ve seen enough to see he struggles to beat his man off the dribble. His shots seems ok when wide open. In your opinion when can Deni consistency fall back on when his back is against the wall?
I think Deni is a top 15 prospect
I think LaMelo is a great prospect for a franchise who's been loitering around in the lottery for far too long and hasn't had any real relevance lately. At the very least, he'll be must-watch TV and will breathe life into some team that's been on life support.he’s in the top 3 to me
lamelo is way too much a wildcard, I wouldn’t wanna touch him
The fact you keep bringing up Luka has me questioning how much tape you've actually seen of Deni. He's a completely different type of player to Luka - he really couldn't be further from him. It's just a lazy ass comparison all because he's a "Euro".I’ve seen enough to see he struggles to beat his man off the dribble. His shots seems ok when wide open.
