In a trade down, sure, but at #2 with a gaping hole at center and a sure fire guard next year, they should address the best way they can have some size on the court.
This isn't that kind of draft bruh... The talent gap from #2-#8 really isn't that wide... There's isn't even a consensus #1 that should tell you how these guys are being viewed

Secondly I just don't think the Warriors value the center position like that...it's not like they run plays for their bigs... They probably feel like they can get a ring chaser to take a paycut to start at C (Marc Gasol/Aron Baynes/Robin Lopez/Howard) will all be available

Dubs traded D-Lo for a reason. We ain't interested in getting smaller.
1. D-Lo and Hayes aren't the same types of players... Hayes is much bigger (weight wise) a smarter shot taker and actually tries defensively

2. You already got you wing size in that trade by getting Wiggins... Other than that I doubt they draft a center that high...that position has never seemed like a priority for them

If they wanna sign a center, cool (though I think they can use Chriss in that role for now.) they should add more size because they lack size. Their small ball lineup options are really limited and I think they should focus on how not to allow Wiggins to be abused in a small ball lineup (given what you described, Okongwu would make sense because he can play really good defense but his offense is just low post stuff and putbacks)

Furthermore, Golden State has the luxury to decide what they want now vs. what they want next year.

if they want a guard now vs. next year they can debate that. If they want a big now vs. next year they can debate that.

I personally think Okongwu makes sense for them too but idk if they'd take an offensively limited guy like that... Maybe Obi Topping since he's a little more seasoned... Vassell would really help them too... This is assuming they can't trade that pick which is probably going to be difficult considering what I mentioned above regarding the talent being all bunched up in the same tier

Sheeit. Whenever we had a shot at a halfway decent one we tried to get him

These scouts over think themselves. I think giving them extra time just makes it worse. So wiseman is suddenly behind Okongwu as a prospect...I get that wiseman only played 3 games but is it possible to have them maybe matchup? Or even wait until the measurements are out.

but than again they get paid to make these decisions

The thinking is that in today’s league you need to be able to switch everything. Wiseman has ? marks regarding that and may not be the offensive force to offset it . If that’s the case he isn’t worth a top 5 pick.

Okungwu is switchable on D.

think it has more to do with Wiseman sliding more than anything else .

This nikka post up a 10 year old article when the team was coming off of 25 wins and had no identity to prove to me that the franchise who's vaunted for their centerless "death lineup" really actually does value Centers :lolbron: you a wild boy lol.... Was Bob Myers even the executive at that time?? Steve Kerr definitely wasn't their coach...

Then you follow that up by posting that David Lee article yet purposely leaving out the most critical information from that rumor

The Warriors' only purpose in the potential trade would be shed the two years and nearly $30 million left on Lee's contract. Chandler has one year and less than $15 million remaining on his contract with the New York Knicks.
:francis:

That team philosophically with its current staff (since I apparently need to specify that) has not placed high value on that position especially not the kind of centers expected to be at the top of this draft ...the talk surrounding the second pick has echoed that :yeshrug:

We haven't had the cap space to sign any good free agents but we did draft Udoh, Looney, Damien Jones, Kuzmic and Smailigic in recent years. shyt Lacob even cashed out a few million to buy a pick to get Jeremy Tyler. And Myers has been an exec here since 2011.

If we could've signed DeMarcus Cousins in his prime I believe Myers would've done it.
