we know how baseball, the writers and these old school fans feel about protecting the game/it’s history. They weren’t giving Beltran a slide. He’s not some Phil Jackson level coach/manager with an established resume.
it’s every man for himself now since these dudes are getting picked off one by one. MLBPA will do what it can for the players (when it comes to dealing with the league) but it can’t protect them once they’re one the road. The fans will show them what the deal really is

We are a week away from spring training and we have no manager. I'm sure he already started meeting and talking with players. All that progress now rolls back to 0 and there's a pretty good chance spring training starts with no manager.
