I'm guessing both the Mets and Yankees hired him due to his sign stealing acumen. While curtailed without in game video equipment use he can still do it by not using technology. He is also good at recognizing pitchers tipping their pitches. He said with all confidence that was Diaz's problem last year.
I believe Logan Morrison many teams did this and Houston and probably Boston are gonna have to pay for it. MLB doesn't want to paint the picture this was league wide and will not investigate other teams much further.
I don't want them to fire Beltran.

Last thing, I think Beltran is safe. What I think happened is he is the main snitch for the Astros GM and Manager being suspended and put the spotlight on Cora. They just named Beltran in the report to provide him cover for his snitching. The Yankees are safe because their cheating was orchestrated by the snitch given immunity Carlos Beltran. I wouldn't be surprised if if MLB urged the Mets to keep him on as well. I think it's over despite all the media pressure to do more.
Prior to this I was a Beltran fan and apologist. But being Both a cheater and snitch is not cool so I got to downgrade dude some in my mind. He was still a great Met CF.
