Bruh, if A-Rod is the dark horse and gets this job...I might cop Mets gear for the first time in my life.

As usual, Mets Twitter is rioting. He had a second interview with them. He was seriously being considered. Probably came down to front office control and/or money.

Should have kept Callaway. As seen by the Gnats success this postseason, managing means very little if the skill players do what's asked of them. If Diaz was decent, Callaway wouldn't have been fired.

I disagree. I was looking at the Nationals,. How did they get to where they are with as bad a bullpen as us?

Offensively, we're similar enough
Defensively, we're similar enough
Rotation wise, they have the upper hand but it isn't lopsided.
Bullpens are equally bad.

Mickey didn't do enough with what he had.

If Davey could get that Nats team to the world series(particularly given how buried they looked in May), Mickey should have at least gotten this team to the playoffs.

They got hot at the right time. They didn't have a six game losing streak in a crucial stretch. They lose the WC if Counsell didn't micromanage by putting in a struggling Josh Hader in for the eighth. They lose in the DS if Roberts didn't shoot himself in the foot again. The stars are aligning for them. It is what it is. He shouldn't have been fired especially if you're going to get another first year guy.

I'm also skeptical about bringing in a new manager with no experience, then wait 2-3 years for results.

I'm starting to think @Rell Lauren was right in keeping Calloway :patrice:And you know I'm not a Calloway fan
