I posted this on another Mets board about David

it was David he already has the respect of much of the clubhouse, isn't far removed from there current game so he understands today's player, and he was thrust front and center to the media during the collapses and Madoff scandal, so he can deal with the NY media at it's worst. He's Brodie's special assistant already and he has a good report with the Wilpons so he'll mostly do as told... It's misdirection, it's going to be David

I would totally prefer David over Beltran, but in reality I'd prefer neither.

However both are better than Eduardo Perez who my gut is telling me will be the hire.
