Bro, you don't have to defend everything man. The same arguments you're making for her you could make for a million hip hop artists and R and B artists over the past decade and they never get that. Sometimes the majority is right. Goodness.

AND I like Kacey. She has talent. But keep it consistent with these shows is all people ask for.

I don't think he cares too much about black people not getting the "recognition" :mjpls:

It's funny hearing "suppose" black people go to bat for cardi b :mjlol:

shyt is Twilight Zone for real. Co-signing your erasure.

Family. Cut it out. When pop stars win it's because of their popularity. When Rock or Country win it's critical acclaim. The Grammys award whichever white friendly artist they want to every year. You guys are out here arguing your subjective opinions instead of just looking at plain inconsistency.

And country music is "huge" among white certain demographics of white people. Hip Hop and pop are clearly more universal if we're going that route. Taylor Swift literally could not tour Europe until she went pop. Grammys are supposed to be the best music worldwide. Cut the bullshyt.

It is the Grammys. :yeshrug:

There is a reason why Cardi wins and not Pusha or Nip.

Why Kacey wins album of the year and others don't.

Why JLo does the Motown tribute. :snoop:

Do you really expect a different outcome given the Grammys's history? Or Award shows like this in general?

We just witnessed Taylor Swift getting replaced.

And she on a short list of the right bytches to attempt to pull it off. Has a look, can sing, has legit records + a built in backing and just needs pop producers to push the crossover forward

My Pops Forever RIP
I actually have heard of her. But if you ask the average person who she is, they wouldn't know. Her being known in music circles doesn't mean anything.

Everybody lost their shyt a few years ago when Beck won. He's actually been in the game since the 90s, but on that night, going up against people like Sam Smith and Beyonce, it was like a new artist that no one had ever even heard of won.

Those lyrics aren't supposed to be taken literally. What the Grammys does is they advertise all these big names to draw ratings, not have them win anything, but instead give certain awards to those "critical darlings."

That mentality is why hip hop has only won Album of the Year twice.
Who's the average person? That average person might listen to country and if they do, they know her.

Whose mans is this? :camby:

If you know my stance on these awards I've stressed for the longest that we don't value our own award shows enough. Put it this way. Tonight everyone's gonna vent. We're gonna see a year's worth of award shows, not give a flying fukk who wins those awards even if it's the artists we like, and then a year from now come right back here and argue about this. It never fails, when in reality, we should be placing a lot more value into our own award shows.
