oh your saying what if baylor is undefeated (Since their the last undefeated B12 left) I got it.

An undefeated B12 champ (Baylor) with Clemson undefeated means both are in with ohio state and the SEC winner. Bama would be fukked. The committee couldn't fully justify leaving out an undefeated conference champion even over alabama that would've lost 1 game without their QB to arguably the best team in the nation
What if it’s Bama or LSU losing to a 1 loss UGA team in the SEC chip game.

Beating OU twice(presumably), Iowa State, Kansas State And Texas will a much Stronger resume than the ACC undefeated champ

it’s not committee job to navigate PR they should be selecting the 4 most deserving teams

Sec
B12
B1G
Pac12
ACC

So if Baylor, Clemson, Bama or LSU, and OSU...Penn St or Minn are all undefeated all those conference champions are getting in.

What you are really trying to say is...does a one loss SEC or Big 10 team get a slot over undefeated ACC or Big12 champs.

And I wish people would stop with this "most deserving" team shyt bc it's inherently flawed. People mix up most deserving with most accomplished team.

1 loss georgia makes it (SEC champ) even though they have the worse loss of any contending playoff teams

whoever georgia didn't play in the SEC title game would make it over the P12, champ and the B12 champ (Sans undefeated baylor)

any UNDEFEATED conference champion is a 100% playoff lock. the only exception is if there are 5 undefeated conference champions :mjlol:

Even though the ACC champ will clearly have the worse resume

Hypothetically speaking if the Clemson and Wake forest switched spots I wonder how this convo would go

Clemson get's the benefit of the doubt being defending champions.

Switch clemson and wake (damn) I would still say the undefeated wake get's in. If you put a 1 loss non conference champ in that selection room might catch a nuke. investigations would open up on collusion.

So you agree with the committee that SOS does not matter

not when your undefeated it doesn't matter. (but it should) Only when you have losses and you have to deviate between teams on who to eliminate or not.

NOT all conference champions are created equal

but you would get sued and investigated if you left out an undefeated conference champion over a 1 loss non champion

I agree that this is how it’s going to play out.

It’s interesting because I think we are in unprecedented territory with how bad the ACC is this year

While the PACs chances look better than they did two weeks ago , they’re still gonna be shut out .
Clem is a lock and the Bama/LSU winner is a lock so that’s two spaces left.

It would take at least 4-5 top teams taking Ls over the next few weeks and Oregon winning out ...

that’s HIGHLY unlikely .

Exactly .
Pac 12 might be the 2nd best conference top to bottom. I can see them not putting Utah in because they lost to USC but if Oregon wins out they deserve it.

you would give 1 loss oregon the edge over 1 loss bama (Assuming they lose to LSU without TUA) to make the playoffs?

I mean not really, I think any team in the playoff hunt would happily take Arizona State/USC on the road as their toughest remaining test. They better not lose to that USC shyt show and I was worried about Arizona State but they just lost to UCLA. Utah just has to get past Washington this wknd and they'll cruise in.
I just told you above :mjtf:

Neither of those teams are making it to the playoff because they’re losing to us
