They had Brown and Tatum and still signed Hayward. Did they take Tatum thinking he was gonna be mediocre?

But like @god shamgod said, if they traded Hayward coming off that injury with that contract, Ainge can forget about signing anyone worth their word moving forward.

No they built a team to go against curry Durant Thompson green Livingston Iggy

So many overrated players in this draft. These GMs and scouts over analyze and over think shyt. That ESPN mock draft last night was laughable. There will be at least 5-10 players taken from 25-40 who will be better than a lot of people taken ahead of them.
Same thing every year. Why don’t you go head and name them.

If you can give up literally nothing for Wiggins then I'd do it if I'm sacramento. They not getting FAs anyway :laff:
whether that's true or not, you can't operate that way. Just because you feel you can't attract top level free agents doesn't mean you should just take on the worst contracts sports has to offer you. That's a defeatist mentality that every player and agent will use against you. In a perfect world they can build it from within.

Unless you're Dan Gilbert trying to appease LeBron, teams who operate out of fear don't win.

Shout out to Mark Cuban and Harrison Barnes :blessed:

I feel you but hey collecting dust on your cap space until you inevitably have to pay your draft picks is a route they can take but I don't know if it's the route I'd take. That's how you end up like Washington and Toronto.

Same thing every year. Why don’t you go head and name them.

zhaire smith, jaren jackson, collin sexton, miles bridges, SGA, troy brown, anfernee simons, bruce brown to name a few

Duval is going back to Duke, Battle back to Syracuse

the whole early entry list is here

NBA Draft 2018: Who's staying in and who's going back to college after testing the waters

I had Porter at 21 to Utah, Battle around 34-35, Duval around 44-46

Mock draft, first round before Game 1, @GoddamnyamanProf @MooseMouthMthafuga y'all are up

wait, what...that's a mistake, duval has an agent and isn't going back to duke. they have other guys that have announced going back to college that they didn't update either. those dudes were in such a rush to get that list out, but they were too lazy to check it for accuracy.

I’ll say it the Celtics have been waiting years for a white allstar they literally got the dude because of the relationship he has with the coach...Hayward isn’t going anywhere...Kyrie and Jaylen Brown would be traded before Gordon.

On another note a team like Charlotte, Brooklyn, Orlando, Sacramento, and Atlanta should see if they can get anything done for Wiggins if he’s being shopped and they can move cap space and closer to expiring contracts.

Just imagine the length the magic would have pause with:
C:Bamba
PF:Gordon
SF:Isaac
SG:Wiggins
PG: can come next year

Doesn’t mean anything if he’s still refusing to play defense but he would at least be the bonafide number 1 option and could put up numbers.

:mjlol: they arent trading hayward

the reason they even got him was because of his relationship with stevens. So he gets injured and trade him a year after they did the same with i.t. that will fukk up their rep league wide

Jaylen brown is not better than hayward, if any wing gets moved it's brown. If boston really wants bamba trading brown to atl, memphis or dallas makes sense

Such an overblown theory.

It’s not overblown the Celtics have been tied to damn near every potential star caliber player that was White going back to Keith Vanhorn remember...Not saying that Boston has been craving a potential white all-star more than winning...But a lot of the fans in Boston have been craving a white basketball star since Larry Legend.

HAVE they though? Or is that a narrative people run with because “well it IS Boston?”

There’s a thread right now on the front page about the C’s reportedly wanting Mo Bamba, who is as far away from Larry Bird as you can get in many ways, yet you’re of the belief that the most winngest franchise in the NBA just can never function without a white superstar. Their favorite player the last couple of years was a Black leprechaun in Isaiah Thomas, but they need a white basketball star? They can get the whitest of stars out, whoever that is, and he still ain’t Larry Bird, and any sane fan will understand that. It’s a stereotype. Many teams have them.

Boston = needs a white superstar
Jazz = needs a Mormon
Lakers = needs a flashy player who has entertainment side hustles
Knicks = needs a superstar from NY who loves defense and is into giving people boonks
Teams in flyover country =who gives a shyt? They should be grateful they have a team.

See how that works? They don’t need a white guy at the helm more than any other team. They’re third banana in that town regardless until Belichick and Brady leave and the Pats fall apart.
