People keep talking about the integrity of the regular in season stay in tact. Truth is, most games played on Saturdays during the fall are irrelevant in the big picture.
Expanding the playoffs doesn't hurt the regular season. Hell, conference championships have been rendered worthless under this setup. Seedings matter. Matchups matter. More college games would have an impact in shaping the championship picture. It's absurd that a "National" champion has such exclusivity on the amateur level. Certain college programs won't even be allowed to compete, mainly because of arbitrary nonsense. It'll make recruiting more interesting; players would be more inclined to go to the smaller school if they believe they could compete for a championship. Coaches wouldn't have to jump to mid level major conference schools just to feel like they have a chance.
