pretty crazy this team lost the rest of the starting 5 in one season..has that ever happened before?

This was basically like the 99 Bulls

I actually enjoyed this Blazers team too.......Wesley ruptures his achilles and it was all over

Yesterday in the team offseason thread I said I preferred to see him do a multi-year deal, the 1 yr is betting on yourself but it also gives the team maximum flexibility. Like another poster said both sides get what they want.

Few weeks ago this situation was looking grim but everything has worked out, as a fan I continue to be impressed with Riley. You go from losing LeBron last summer to getting Deng, finding a gem in Whiteside, trading for Dragic, missing the playoffs but lucking up on a perimeter talent in Winslow, to having no money but somehow still managing to get at a table with LaMarcus Aldridge. I'll be happy when this free agency shyt is over so I can go back to getting my 8 hours of sleep

Riley is a boss. Heat have one of the most balanced lineups in the league, and solid on both sides of the ball

The Whiteside finding is just :wow:

Didnt realize that. Interesting he turned down a 3 year deal

Maybe he thinks he can out earn that as the cap goes up on 1 year deals?

If the cap is 89 mil next summer, he would be worth 27 mil based on the contract % he just signed
In 2017 cap is supposed to be at 108 mil, he would be worth 32-33 mil based on this contract %

Now lets make it a bit more realistic since his production will slow slightly, 22-25 next summer, 30-32 mil in 2017 as a farewell paycheck

Wade can still cake if he continues his most recent production.

Will be interesting to watch this dynamic continue to play out. Its not risky for Bron to do these 1 year deals, Wade .... Im not so sure...

Basically betting on himself, like whats being said. Stay in better shape, stay on the court for about 70-75gms with his usual production and he can definitely demand those numbers even with his age.

That wing situation needs to be worked out, but other then that suns are back.

not even being biased, but if i were L.A. i would choose phoenix. when tim is gone, SA is probably going to melt down anyway. might as well help phoenix develop, and in one year they will be a beast.
