Yesterday in the team offseason thread I said I preferred to see him do a multi-year deal, the 1 yr is betting on yourself but it also gives the team maximum flexibility. Like another poster said both sides get what they want.
Few weeks ago this situation was looking grim but everything has worked out, as a fan I continue to be impressed with Riley. You go from losing LeBron last summer to getting Deng, finding a gem in Whiteside, trading for Dragic, missing the playoffs but lucking up on a perimeter talent in Winslow, to having no money but somehow still managing to get at a table with LaMarcus Aldridge. I'll be happy when this free agency shyt is over so I can go back to getting my 8 hours of sleep
