Saric is a 4 in the same vein as Lamar Odom, he really can't shoot that well at the moment, good playmaker and a dude that could maybe knock down some 3s in the future. They would probably never be able to play Saric, Nerlens and Embiid together, even with shooters at the 1 & 2, there would be too much spacing issues. If they take Porzingis, they could play Saric/Embiid together because of the fact Porzingis would be the floor spacer from the four.

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes for them to take Porzingis and then flip Nerlens for a PG. Drafting him means Mudiay is there at 6, and they have enough assets to make trading for him a breeze, they could probably get him and McLemore or Stauskas back if they offered Nerlens.
Saric is not gonna start or play at the 3, simply because he isn't laterally quick enough to guard wings, he is gonna be a change of pace 4 off the bench.

C: Embiid
PF: Noel / Saric
SF: Covington
SG: ?
PG: ?

Put shooters at 1-3

I wouldn't take a chance on Porzingis before the bigs but id take him with his upside before Russel.

Russel scares me.I think he'll be a solid poor mans Curry type but how he's been shut down by good teams and defenders scares me

The Wolves need to draft Towns based on what they have and where the league has headed but I wouldn't mind if they took Russell based on the stuff @Malta was saying. I do think that a PG who was average, and put up 16 ppg and 7 assists would make a world of difference for the team.

I was with @tremonthustler1 on Rubio and his importance to the team and he really is good at his job, but its not good enough to get the team over the hump. Rubio will have us competitive because he is a good PG, but for the Wolves to make that next step, I think an upgrade at point is the most important change
worst case scenario if Ricky comes and doesn't help, Kris Dunn is there in 2016. They didn't stop making guards when they made Russell, and he may not be a PG long term

Saric will be on the first plane back to the Euroleague if you think he's going to be ok with coming off the bench for the next few years :francis:

Is it fair to say that Flip wishes he got the 3rd or 4th pick, because he was one of the early believers in Porzingis.

I....would prefer another team besides the Lakers take that gamble on Porzingis. I want him to be good, but he's too raw and unknown and has very high bust potential.

Minny, Philly, and Orlando can offer the adjustment time he needs... away from the spotlight of a big market.

I think the Porzingis hype confirms what Flip would have done if he didn't pick first. Porzingis has really sold himself on being a KG disciple.

We don't know if he can defend 3s or not yet, the Magic got away with Hedo playing the 3 and Saric is more athletic than him :manny: The idea of him not being able to play the 3 for yall was because of the fact Nerlens & Embiid would need space, and he's not a shooter.....

If they do draft Porzingis, you need to be ready to move on from Noel :francis: cause he would be the odd man out among the four guys.

He would get no such time adjustment here in Philly. Despite us being ass, the very moment he fukks up, the fans will crucify dude. He'd be the posterboy of our fukk ups. That is a lot of pressure for a raw 19 year old.

If he is, he's a p*ssy, but at 4 the choice woulda been easy since he, even now, only runs the kind of offense that would only work for KG.

Having the options he has only highlights how dumb he was to trade a future first for Payne. In a perfect world, he brings Bjelica over too and now you have Bjelica /Towns/KG/Dieng /Payne /Bennett who are all gonna wanna play. Completely unnecessary

I'd keep a major close eye on where Bjelica goes because unfortunately I don't think we sign him, so he'll be a chip on draft night for sure.
