I actually have become a fan of kaminsky recently the more models I read and the more I look into him. He's an exceptional passer and he can create for himself. That's a rare trait for a near 7footer. He also doesn't rate bad defensively

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
Meh chandler was overpaid and injury prone. It was time he's old

It's not that trading him was an awful idea

It's that trading Tyson Chandler on an expiring contract for Jose Calderon who has another year on his contract and Samuel Dalembert who has apparently worn out his welcome on every team he's played for (and the list is long) was a horrible idea

You'd argue they saw potential in Larkin but they turned down his option so they aren't keeping him either

Long story short, they traded the type of player who has become very valuable in this league for basically nothing

Yes, i like him a lot, he may not have out of this world athletic ability but the guy can play, at the end of the day that matters. I can't figure out Dekker tho, is he the next Hayward/Parsons or a bust?

They should be better than him through their first couple years, but the NBA is heading in a direction where having a 7'1" PF that can stretch the floor and play defense is golden, especially with Drummond & Jackson on the team.

Day 1 they'll be better, but what about day 1095 :lupe: I think it's Mario or Kristaps, can't really see Stan going with Stan :wow:

Stretch the floor & play defense is golden you say. Serge being a basketball unicorn changing the position.

Payne is pretty good, he's a natural volume 3pt shooter, elite playmaker(low TOs too), and can play off the ball..

He most likely a better Reggie(okc version) who can shoot the 3 at a high volume, transition player, and a better playmaker.

I'm not fond of Oubre's attitude(unless he is a Paul George type, quiet but we are never able to doubt his motor), i've seen enough of that with Lamb and Jones.

Payne rocked a 30 PER in the RS and a 31 PER in the Tournament. So he was obviously productive in a his lead role.

He's shooting up on a lot of boards, similar to Lillard in 2012.

I'd just much rather we get a wing than another PG. We take a PG he ain't playing at all this season unless we move DJ & we might end up in the same spot we did with Reggie where playing behind Russy isn't good enough. PG is deep enough around the league that finding one isn't a huge problem we can't address later if need be rather than spending hopefully our last lottery pick for a long time on one.

We still have to figure out the SG spot though & unless we make a trade this is the best way to do it considering our roster space & money situation. Waiters is at best a 6th man who occasionally gets hot & is heading into FA after this season. A-Mo is great in his role but isn't a starter. Robes is great on defense but can't throw a grape in the ocean from a boat. Lamb is probably gone after getting fukked over by Brooks. We still need to find the do a little of everything type there.

What do people think of Devin Booker and Sam Dekker's low steals rates? Never been high on either of them.
Ya Bookers numbers outside of scoring (assists, rebounding, steals etc) bother me but I feel like Cal put him in that position somewhat. He had Booker guarding the opposing teams best perimeter player and also release on shots to try getting quick easy buckets on the other end

He's talented, but would he even really play next season? You still have Augustin and he's got another year left on his deal.

The Suns with Kaminsky is just :ld: more of the same.

DJ was pretty mediocre, he can't see over the defense and he can't score unless he gets into rhythm. Which is never going to happen with Russ being a ball dominant guard.

Presti sees the same thing and wants to find a replacement before his contract runs out. If he does well in Summer league and preseason he might play from day 1 like McGary.

Biggest thing he has going for him is that he is young.

There's still time for you to switch your pick so I dont have to take Kaminsky :francis:

No thanks.

The other guys I considered were Cam Pain, Portis, and Looney... Portis and Looney for similar reasons to why I took Myles... Cam Payne to replace Trey Burke. :trash:

Think the Jazz go with Kaminsky over Turner.

Yeah... but should they? Meeehhhhhh. I think Kaminsky can be fine. I think Myles can be good. So I went in that direction, plus his length still offers them defense, while spacing next to either Favors or Stifle.

My thing is does he retain his mobility if he adds 30-40 pounds?

He's never gaining 40 pounds, I think he could put on 20 in the next two years, and be stronger.... he's just not going to be the type to bully on the block. Doesn't mean he CAN'T work out. He's certainly skilled... but the NBA athletes are going ot make it tougher for him to put it on the floor like he does overseas.

What do people think of Devin Booker and Sam Dekker's low steals rates? Never been high on either of them.

I personally am not worried about it, because I don't see them as defenders... Booker is an alright athlete with sub-alright measurables... and dekker is a slow-footed white kid.

No, it isn't.

The european leagues are filled with guys that can really play, but don't have it physically.

Nah not players as good as Kaminsky will be in a couple years, playing NBA basketball. And those that are as good or better than him, are there by choice or chance
