I'm paying close attention to Hollis-Jefferson, Anderson and Mickey....I think they will all be extremely productive NBA role players especially if they go to the right teams.

Im mixed on RHJ. Seems like another MKG tbh. I dont think he fits on Charlotte. They need scoring...I mean it could work for athleticism and defense and I think he can contribute on defense in a plus way early but those shot mechanics are terrible. Theyve improved in workouts but its hard to not regress back into old shooting habits mid game after working on it only briefly

I still don't grasp the MKG hype he's exactly what we thought he'd be and to me that doesn't warrant a 2nd overall pick.

But with the teams except the Nets, Lakers, Celts picking in the 20s they are good places for younger players to go to be mentored.

all the celtics fans on realgm and celticsblog are fawning over RHJ..me personally :patrice:

i dont think he lasts till 28..and i do not want to trade up for him..plus things would have to go seriously wrong with their main plans for them to draft him...ie FA/Trade plans A/B/C/D all falling through AND jae crowder pricing himself out of re-signing..he wouldnt be an awful fit but i dont think the celts want to be in that younger players mentoring mode next year and beyond. he can be useful since we are lacking in athleticism and defense..but, surprisingly, Ainge said upgrading the wing is goal #1 and i dont think RHJ is nba ready enough to really do that. they like justin anderson more..which may indicate a Bradley trade but things are so damn fluid with all of our assets that i have no idea whats going to happen. i think its safe to say a trade is sitting on Sac's desk and they are waiting on a decision.

Lame I know...But I was sitting pondering...wouldn't the Celtics trading 16/28/Bradley to Utah for 12 or the Hornets make since?

Also Roy Hibbert/11 for Zeller/16/28 crossed my mind but I doubt the Celts want him.

  1. Thats overpaying. They were offered a first for Bradley this year and turned it down and I dont think there is enough of a difference between 12 and 16 to do that, at all. Only way is the off-chance we can nab Hayward which is probably at 5%. Bradley to Charlotte, Denver, Detroit and Sac-Town (perhaps if McLemore is moved to Denver or they bail on Stauskas and use McLemore off the bench) make the most sense to me.
  2. Possible but not for both picks. Maybe for 16 and a boat-load of our future 2nd round picks. We have like 15 in 5 years...including next year's Philly pick too. We have their 2nd this year (33), which to me, makes 28 highly likely to be moved especially if we move 16 without a pick back as well and want to trade up for Anderson. I think Ainge has inquired about Hibbert before and he is expiring but, unless they know Jordan is ruled out..and that they dont go the cheaper Asik/Lopez/Koufos route it won't happen. I think they want to free up money before FA this year rather than take it on unless its for Boogie and Hibbert could just be a band-aid since he will want big money again next year and they want to lock up a core that they can rely on for years rather than just mixing and matching here and there.
edit: if we can grab Hibbert on a deal for just our trade exception id be more likely to co-sign. pacers devalued the shyt out of him and want him gone badly...its all but assumed Hibbert opts in but if he doesnt then its a moot point.

edit2: i dont think ainge uses 16 and an asset to trade up unless they can trade up into the top 8 or they unload Sullinger/Olynyk and get a good but distressed asset back.

Those low first rd picks don't seem to have much value to me even though you can find impact players there.

i disagree. theres a bunch of top tier talent then there is solid talent sprinkled throughout. if a team really likes a player that drops then they can grab them on cheaper deals than they would if they had to trade up for that player. id trade up for justin anderson or maybe snag RJ Hunter if hes around then roll the dice on Upshaw at 33 to have him on a 2nd round contract. in most drafts i co-sign trading down from 28 into the second round just based on salary structure alone but im not so sure this time around.

Even if Danny finds a trade he likes he can still easily open up another 20 million in cap space by moving Bradley and Wallace

I'll raise you that because I understand where your coming from talent can be had all over the draft sometimes it depends on situation just like theres always a bust there is always a suprise player that will either slip or a later round/undrafted player who will shine.
