I may post my mock hopefully before tomorrow afternoon.

Lakers fans, Joseph Young, You might wanna remember that name. Word is he's promised no worse than your pick at 27.

Joe Young at 27? He's a really good shooter, but I dunno about him going that high :patrice:

i guess it wouldnt really be a reach in this draft. i see the draft as being somewhat weak at PG and especially in that range...Young is a baller that was big in the clutch in conference tourneys and is a nice player. normally Id say they could just draft him at 34...but other than Rozier there may not be another PG on the board by the late 20's and Brooklyn and Houston pick between 27 and the LA 2nd rounder so maybe they grab him there if they like him just to be sure

Hardly a reach at 27. Besides, PG thins out big time in round 2

He is pretty talented. I'm just surprised he's being promised by the Lakers at #27 cause I just saw him near the end of the 2nd yesterday on DX's board

It does make sense for a team at the end of the first to just lock someone they like to a longer contract rather than risk losing a guy on a shorter contract in the 2nd round ala Wesley Matthews (yes, I know he was undrafted), Boozer, etc

@tremonthustler1

what do you hear about Upshaw? Is he going 2nd round for sure?

is there any hope for the guy?

I heard one source say that a team would have to be "arrogant as hell" to draft him in the first. He needs a solid support system. I think hes a superb talent but some teams have him off the board altogether. SA would be an ideal situation for him but thats not their MO.

draftnet.com is usually trash but they have him undrafted. DX has him going 37 to the Sixers. Hes a huge wild-card and I have no idea where he'll go but hes definitely worth the upside to me in the 2nd. I was advocating the Celts grab him at 28 or 33 but apparently they have no interest. Despite what Ive heard, I think he has too much potential to pass on...:yeshrug:Top tier big man defensive skill and measured out ridiculously well.

I think the final straw to some teams was the recent heart condition situation. There were as many red flags as possible before that.

I hear you..but the more I look at it, the less im surprised. In that range and beyond, who's left at PG (unless someone drops)? Its basically just him, Harrison, Rozier, Hanlan, Radicevic, and I suppose Tokoto if a team thinks he can convert to PG or be a solid combo guard that can run point here and there rather than just running transition at the 2. Young is probably better than all of them although I like Tokoto.

All I know is @PTBG is right.

We need to be taking Okafor at #2 and fukk everybody else. We need a 7'0 dominant low post scorer, that can potentially get you 20/10, for the next 10-12 years and worry about everything else later.

It's a no-brainer imo. Potentially great offensive 7 footers dont come around that often...while guards are always able to be found (we got Clarkson in the 2nd round:whew:)

It's not like he's horrible on defense anyways, he gonna be maybe average at best. However, offensively? He's ready:yeshrug:

According to Jonathan Givony, Cameron Payne fractured his right hand and will stop all workouts. He'll be in the green room next week.

Cameron Payne Injures Hand in Denver Nuggets Workout
by: Jonathan Givony - President
June 19, 2015

Cameron Payne suffered a non-displaced fracture in his right (off) hand in a workout in Denver on Monday. After seeing a hand specialist in New York, it was determined that Payne suffered a clean fracture which will not require surgery, and will sit out the next three weeks as a precautionary measure. His hand is currently in a splint, not a cast. “Cam continued to work out even after suffering the injury in Denver, and he could probably play in a meaningful game tomorrow if he needed to,” his agent Travis King told us, adding that the precise timetable for his return will be set after an additional visit with a specialist next week.

Payne completed his workout schedule with his visit to Denver and was not planning on traveling to see any more NBA teams. Teams he already worked out for (besides the Nuggets) include the Los Angeles Lakers, the Sacramento Kings and the Indiana Pacers. He has also visited the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Utah Jazz and the Boston Celtics so far, but did not conduct a workout there. According to Payne's camp, he has received strong indications that will be the third point guard drafted next Thursday, and had already received his invitation to the NBA Green Room prior to the setback in Denver. He is planning on attending the draft.

According to NBA sources we've spoken with, a number of teams could attempt to move up and trade for Payne depending on how the lottery shakes out.

His status for summer league will be determined by the doctor's timetable, as well as which team drafts him. The Vegas Summer league ends on July 20th, giving him ample time to return if needed.
