not true. Tennessee never had back to back top 5 recruting classes in the 15 year history of rivals.com. the last 2 years were the best consecutive seasons in Tennessee (at least as far back as internet rankings have been around).

the recruiting rankings were in direct response to why some teams get more hype in the preseason than others. i never said being higher in the recruiting rankings makes you a better team. there is just a general trend for that.
you can find outliers to almost anything. still doesn't change the fact the last 3 champions (Alabama, Florida State, and Ohio State) are perennial top 5 recruiters.
elite recruiting might not be SUFFICIENT to winning a title, but it does look to be NECCESARY.
think about how crazy the statement you just said is. in the last 10 years 4 different SEC teams have won titles. all other conferences have combined for 3 (Texas, Florida State, and Ohio State). just think about that for a second. you're shytting on a conference that BY ITSELF has produced more unique champions than every other conference combined.
nobody in their right mind thinks Ole Miss is better than USC as a program. or that Arkansas is better than Ohio State. but to act like the respect the SEC gets is somehow unwarranted is ridiculous. you can say we've fallen off. you can we got exposed last year. but you can't act like the last 10 years didn't happen. that was UNPRECEDENTED domination.
top to bottom the SEC is the best conference. and has been for a while. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean every SEC team is better than every non-SEC team.

first of all, Tennessee has been elite. they've just been shyt the last 7-8 years. and no one considers Arkansas, South Carolina, or the Mississippi schools as "elite" programs. none of them have even won the SEC championship game yet. there are only 10 or so elite programs in the country. the SEC just has more elite programs than any other conference. thats where its respect comes from. nobody is gonna put Ole Miss ahead of USC in anything. or Arkansas ahead of Florida State.
stop crying about something nobody is saying. Florida State is better than every program in the SEC not named Alabama. However, that doesn't change the fact, the ACC is top to bottom a weaker conference.

if ya'll must know, these are the only "ELITE" programs in the country IMO. taking the last 10-15 years into account.
Big 10 - Ohio State and Michigan
Big 12 - Oklahoma and Texas
Pac 12 - USC and Oregon
ACC - Florida State and Miami
SEC - Alabama, LSU, Florida, Auburn, and Georgia
this is why the SEC is considered the best. while the rest of the power 5 have 2 elite programs. the SEC has 5 legit elite programs.
