What doesn't want to be talked about in here is the chance that 2 SEC teams make it
Because there is little to none

Those days

Are fukking over

Big ten champ makes it
Sec champs make it
Big 12 champ more than LIKELY makes it

So for a second sec team to make it...Neither the acc champ or the pac 12 champ to be worthy

It's not realistic.

You would definitely need one undefeated sec champ and another sec team with a single loss and beatdowns out of conference, and for the pac 12 and acc champ with 2 losses.

Nope. Not gonna happen.

There's no consensus favorite in the ACC or Pac 12 tho. Yu can talk about Clemson but they're Clemson.

Okay,?

If Clemson or gt win the acc, even with a single loss, they go in over a second sec team.

Clemson would have wins over ND, south Carolina, Georgia tech, fsu, and at Louisville

Gt would have wins over Georgia, Clemson, ND, FSU, and va tech

Both of them even with one loss would have a better resume than the second sec team. It's just a fact breh

What might be real hard is for a SEC team to finish with one L if one team does finish undefeated.

Assuming it's the hood favorite going 13-0, that leaves LSU, TAMU or Tennessee as the best options. (I didn't list Georgia because they would have to take a L to AU and somehow be high enough to sustain another L and remain #4)

I think Tennessee might be the logical one here, because they would finish the season undefeated with a strong schedule and under these auspices, a close loss to Auburn.

So for some odd reason you want the SEC to get two teams in, you'd have to also be a Tennessee fan (which coincides, because the only person who'd want that is a Tennessee fan)

you wish. if there are two 1-loss teams in the SEC West, then the one that doesn't win the conference will make the playoff if the ACC Champ or Big 10 champ is not undefeated. And if the Pac 12 champ or Big 12 champ has 2 losses.

the pecking order of conferences pretty much requires that a 1 loss non-SEC champ SEC West team make it over a 1 loss ACC Champ and 1 loss Big 10 champ (given the disparity in conference strength). and a 1 loss SEC West team will make it over a 2 loss Pac 12 champ and 2 loss Big 12 champ.

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE. there is no excuse for Ohio State to suffer an L given their schedule. If Alabama for example goes thru their brutal schedule with only 1 loss (lets say to Auburn for example) and Auburn wins the SEC with only 1 loss. A 1 loss Alabama whose only loss is to the SEC Champ Auburn will make it into the playoff. We saw this in 2013. Alabama was #1 all year. They lost to Auburn on the kick 6. Auburn won the SEC and played Florida State in the national championship game. If the playoff had been around that year, Alabama woulda made a 4 team playoff along with Auburn and Florida State.

Actually you don't know that because it was under a totally different system. It's based on a human panel now so you can't extrapolate results that way.

I think the ACC is definitely out this season. They need a team to go undefeated and I don't think Clemson will. Florida State might be in for a rebuilding season. could see them losing 2 games.

Pac 12 has a ton of parity like the SEC. I could easily see a 2 loss Pac 12 team winning the conference championship. If that happens, a 1 loss non-champ from the SEC West could make it over them.

Big 10's only hope for the playoff would be a 1 loss Ohio State or Michigan State winning the conference. Given how weak the conference is, thats pretty much a lock to happen.

Big 12 champ makes it if they have 1 loss. A 2 loss Big 12 champ doesn't make it over a 1 loss non-champ from the SEC West. I could even see a 1 loss big 12 champ not making it if for example, Oklahoma wins the Big 12 but they have an out of conference loss to Tennessee. That would make people question the big 12's strength and could see a non-champ from the SEC west getting in over them. Especially if Tennessee doesn't have a great season.
