:mjlol: That explains it. Every time I hear Tennessee fans boosting up Dobbs I tell myself that can't be the same guy from the Georgia game.

the coaches were intentionally trying to redshirt him until the alabama game when Worley was lost for the season and Petermen was ineffective.

literally he was put in as a last alternative. not because he couldn't play. but because butch wanted to preserve a 5th year of eligibility. dobbs is a serious student (aerospace engineer) and supposedly he and his parents wanted that extra year of free education.

Your coach is heavily recruiting the midwest/ Ohio region you dumbass

:stopitslime: we had one recruit from michigan and one from indiana in the 2015 class. one recruit from ohio in 2014. the guy from indiana was a consensus 4 star top 200 player in the country so i don't think it makes much of a difference. butch coached in michigan and has connects. but its not like our team is filled with midwest guys. he travels up north once and awhile to get that rare guy who is either overlooked or is a consensus top player in the country. however, there is no heavy recruiting of ohio or the midwest.

most of the players we've recruited the last 2 years are from tennessee, georgia, and the rest of the south. a couple of elite guys from california. and a couple of elite guys from elsewhere. but our major hub is tennessee/georgia and the rest of the southeast.

Life comes at you fast, SEC fans. Y'all are gonna see the cyclical nature of college football in the next few years when you realize your teams and your conference are not as dominant as they used to be and the other conferences start routinely winning titles. That humbling is going to be so beautiful to watch :banderas:

unless nikkas in the south decide to start playing for schools outside the SEC enmasse, the SEC will continue to dominate. you nikkas just don't get it. what makes the SEC dominant is not some birthright or the fact our coaches are better, or that our schools care more about football than other schools. its because MOST BLACK FOLKS LIVE IN THE SOUTH!!! until there is another mass migration of black people to the north or the west, or black folks in the south decide they don't wanna go to SEC schools (like they did in the past during segregation and jim crow), the SEC wil continue to dominate.

the only reason schools like USC or Ohio State used to dominate in the 60s or 70s is because most of the great black athletes in the south didn't wanna or were not allowed to play for the SEC teams. they either played at HBCUs or they went to northern schools that were more progressive. that trend started to change in the 80s/90s. and its culminated with the 00s when most of the best black players in the south decided to stay in the south. thus the reign of the SEC began.

unless black folks decide to leave the south enmasse or we decide to play for big 10 or pac 12 schools above the SEC schools, the SEC will dominate in perpetuity.

northern cacs are just as racist if not more than southern cacs. de jure segregation v. de facto segregation. its both the same to me. northern school may have let nikkas play for them. but they still treated the black students like second class citizens on campus.

i support the players not the school. right now most of the best players in the country play in the south.

The SEC only started to dominate after the USC dynasty ended. Stop rewriting shyt. It's really only been a few years in the grand scheme

And coaches absolutely have an impact. Saban turned around both LSU and Alabama, Sumlin helped bring A&M to prominence with a white QB, Malzahn is doing huge things with recruiting and scheme at Auburn. Florida has never been the same since Urban left and OSU has been basically unbeatable since he's been there. Hmmm.. Let's act like athletic southern kids are the only reason the SEC dominates.

The B1G is coming with Urban, Franklin, Harbaugh, and Dantonio. Deal with it

now explain to me why the big 10 coaches are running to alabama to hold satellite camps?

sports is largely about the players. the coaches you named are great because they recruit. saban didn't turn around alabama with 3 star kids. he's had the top recruiting class pretty much every year since 2007.
