That's fukking pathetic breh

last year was a rebuilding season. it was butch's 2nd year at the helm. his first true recruiting class. i didn't expect us to make it to a bowl game. i just wanted us to stay competitive with the likes of georgia and florida. maybe steal one game here or there. you gotta remember the state dooley left the program in. he was terrible at recruiting. last year, we lost all our starters on the offensive and defensive line from the preceding season. we were so thin on upperclassmen that we had 2 true freshmen start on the offensive line. one of them recruited as a DT played OG for us (Jashon Robertson....he actually had a freshmen all-american season so it turned out well), while the other was a C we were forced to play at RT.

we played more true freshmen than anyone else in the country (something like 25 or 26). the negative of that was we lost alot of close games early in the season that a more experienced team woulda won (see Florida and Georgia games). however, the positive is we saw the rise of potential SUPERSTARS. one of the true freshmen that shined the brightest was DE Derek Barnett. he had 10.0 sacks last season and 21 TFLs. both good for top 5 in the conference (regardless of class). he also played extremely well against Laremy Tunsil and Cam Robinson. two future 1st round LTs.

I see what Swag is saying about recruiting but a lot of these recruits don't even pan out. We've already lost two four stars and a five star from our #2 class a couple of years ago

true. we already have had 4-5 guys from our 2014 class transfer or get kicked off the team. when I talk about our recruiting class. I'm not just hoping for guys to pan out. i'm projecting based on what they did last year.
  • DE Derek Barnett started every game last year. he was named 2nd team All-SEC as a freshmen. he was a consensus freshmen all-american. he's projected my some media members as the potential DPOY in the SEC next season.
  • RB Jalen Hurd started nearly every game. he had 1120 yards from scrimmage and scored 7 TDs (behind a porous OL). if it wasn't for Nick Chubb and Leonard Fournette, he would've made the All-SEC freshmen team.
  • OL Jashon Robertson started every game. he made the All-SEC freshmen team last season and was named a freshmen all-american by several publications.
  • FS Todd Kelly Jr. had 3 interceptions last year in limited starts. he made the All-SEC freshmen team as well.

thats 4 true freshmen who showed out last year and were among the top 10-20 freshmen in the SEC. a couple (Derek Barnett and Jashon Robertson) being named freshmen all-americans. outside of these standouts, we had 4 other true freshmen start consistently for us. TE Ethan Wolf started every game as a true freshmen. WR Josh Malone, CB Emmanuel Moseley, and OL Coleman Thomas were all starters by the end of the season.

so thats 8 true freshmen who started for us and played significant snaps. by the bowl game they were much better than they were when they first flew up to Norman to play Oklahoma. I'm not crazy to expect these guys to build on their stellar freshmen seasons. we don't need our 2015 recruits to ALL be superstars. If 3-4 guys emerge, we'll be on our way to a tremendous season.

may head to eugene for a game this year :noah:
doubt you could go in September, but Friday September 25th Stanford is playing at Oregon State and Saturday Utah is playing the Ducks in Eugene. Corvallis and Eugene are only 45 minutes away.

If you really wanted to make the most of the trip start in Seattle and watch the Seattle Sounders play Vancouver on Wednesday the 23rd then head to Portland.

kids from big 10 country can't play football. why else is urban raiding the SEC footprint for talent?
We've already gone down this rabbit hole once. OSU's team is mostly Ohio/Midwest players. Only major impact players outside of the Midwest were Curtis Grant, Bosa, Bell, and JT (and even then, Cardale from Cleveland was the QB for the three game run). Just stop it with this nonsense.

Why is reinscarf fronting btw.

You're not going to fukking Eugene.

You never even been to Ann arbor and it would a fraction of the cost and time and is a way better venue.

You went to a game vs Buffalo ALLEGEDLY...NO pics..And it was your first game ever..

Wolf tickets :francis:

Yall and ohio state fans are seeing what us fsu brehs had to deal with last year cept replace swag with crimson tider
I haven't said shyt about Alabama period this offseason, couldn't really care less bout them but yall FSU fans made a bunch of something out of nothing. The worst thing I said last season was FSU would be overhyped, a justified statement at the time and after the fact.

I'm sure that Alabama had more kids from sec footprint than ohio, why aren't they champions right now?

because the best players on the field that night were stolen from SEC country. Ezekiel Elliot (missouri) ran wild on bama, Joey Bosa (Florida) was in the backfield every play, and Von Bell (Georgia) made the game saving interception on the hail mary pass.

without nikkas from the south bringing speed to the lousy big 10, ya'll nikkas would still be gettin blown out in national title games. see 2007 and 2008 title games. :mjpls:
