Titans to sign quarterback Tyler Wilson

The Titans are reportedly adding some young depth at quarterback for the final weeks of the regular season.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean, the Titans will sign rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson from Oakland’s practice squad.

A fourth-round pick of the Raiders, Wilson was on the Raiders’ roster for Oakland’s Nov. 17 game at Houston and the Nov. 24 meeting with Tennessee. He did not play in either contest. Wilson has been on the Raiders’ practice squad for much of the season.

The Titans currently have three quarterbacks on their active roster: Ryan Fitzpatrick, Rusty Smith and John Skelton. Jake Locker, the Titans’ starter to begin the season, is on injured reserve with a foot injury.

By signing Wilson now, the Titans can get the former Arkansas star under contract just before the offseason begins. It’s possible Wilson could compete for a reserve role in 2014.

While second-year Oakland Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie is likely safe for 2013, coach Dennis Allen is very much on the hot seat. Going into Sunday's game against Kansas City, a source familiar with the mindset of ownership said that the season's final few games will be crucial toward determining the coach's fate.

If the Raiders are competitive and appear to be getting better, Allen likely will return. But if they get embarrassed, appear to be regressing and don't look like they have a plan, Allen likely will be fired.
:patrice: Yea DA is getting canned. :aicmon: If we hire another lame ass coach. :camby:
