Had fun with this one and I thought it was better than 5

Couple of things I thought was a bit silly
Chad surviving after getting stabbed a shyt ton of times. Also didn't Tara get stabbed in the back and in the stomach in the hideout and pretty much no sold it?

oh yeah
the way they explain sid not being in it makes sense and was good.

if they somehow shoehorned her in it would be forced as fukk

if they include her in 7...I'd be interested to see how the hell they'd do it

But I'm also curious in general what 7 would be about

maybe kirby does go crazy in it...then they could bring back sid

It’s been twice now and they might as well make it a running joke of Chad surviving some of the most barbaric attacks. Breh was getting stabbed at the velocity of

The “It just sucks having everybody hate you” line from Sam is exactly when I started fukkin’ with her more. That felt like a calling out to her critics, myself included.

Will probably change at some point, but my ranking as of now:

1 > 2 > 4 > 5 > 6 > 3

5 just felt like a tighter film to me despite not having nearly the scale of set pieces and budget of this one. The killer(s) reveal in the last act with Amber firing that gun stood out more and Richie filled a charismatic void that these three killers didn’t seem to deliver on. Mulroney tried pulling off those crazy eyes here and I laughed so much by how forced it was.

Dewey may have been killed by a midget Ghostface but I give the film props for actually killing him. VI had zero core character deaths and I’m kinda bummed by the fact especially after what was otherwise a fun journey.

Biggest pros? Barrera essentially winning Most Improved Player Actor, the setpieces, the fact that they brought back chase scenes, Roger Jackson not missing a single step (most consistent mf in the franchise).

Movie did its thing for the most part and that was without the queen, Neve Campbell. Bravo.

entertaining addition to the Franchise that I enjoyed more than the previous film. In Scream V you had all these new characters introduced who slowly became the main focus over Sidney’s group, which honestly sucked because I didn’t have any connection with the characters. I do now. I give credit to Sam’s character for stepping up drastically in her acting and the core fore chemistry is fukking amazing. I’m a major fan of all four so even tho all those fake deaths were bullshyt and the films biggest con, I’m not really mad at the decision considering it will just add to Scream VII.

I watched the previous films before going to the theater and I feel that the Scream franchise has the best casting out of any other horror franchise. The killers can be trash once in a while but I enjoyed every Screams characters with significant roles. Which is a major plus because like franchises like a Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, Hellraiser, all had forgettable characters that couldn’t replace the original cast. Not saying this new group is better than Sidney’s group but they did an excellent job with the cast to make sure her presence being gone wasn’t a major hole in the film.

I do feel like we’re in a Laurie Strode situation where Sidney might be gone next film as well, and even the film after that (if there is one), but I feel like the series will eventually end with the major star.

The antagonists for this movie fukking sucked. I knew it was the cop in like the first 20 mins and I knew somehow the daughter faked her death or some shyt…. Didn’t think the nerd was a part of the group tho… I don’t know they just felt really flat.

Scream is sort of following the same format as it did in previous films. For example, Scream and Scream V focus on high schoolers and Billy. Scream II and Scream VI center around the cast being college students and the killers are related to the killers in films that came before them. I wonder since III took place on a film set will VII be someone silimiar, yet up to date with modern time? They could easily tie in streaming/social media next film.

People pointing out about Chad getting stabbed every movie forgetting that Courtney Cox gets shot and stabbed every movie but comes back the next film like she took some Tylenol to make sure her life threatening injuries are gone forever.

I’ll go into more shyt what I liked and didn’t like about the film.
But

It was an enjoyable film that might have great replay value. It’s probably top 3 or 4…

Scream for sure as a franchise is shytting on the other classic franchises when it comes to quality tho.

7 will be the capping point of this trilogy. So it will have to bring some closure to Sam's arc just like 3 did with Sidney back in the day.

It does seem like they're hinting at Sam possibly giving in to the darkside which would probably an interesting and somewhat surprising end to this trilogy if they go through with it.

It's going to be hard to bring back Sid without making the film centered on her. Ghostface's motive will have to include both Sidney and Sam being targets maybe.

Someone on here already pitched how they should do the 8th movie and from how the movie ended I wouldn’t be surprised if they go down this route

Imma elaborate on my Scream 6 idea. I wasn't feeling well today so I had time to think about this shyt :mjlol:

The opening scene can be the usual Scream shyt. Unknown hot chick gets stalked by Ghostface, the usual. But then she actually manages to fight him off but just when she's out the door, a second Ghostface shows up. Unlike the first though, he simply leers at her and stands still. She's in a basement or some shyt and the door is jammed, so she's trying to escape and freaking out not knowing what's about to happen. Ghostface 1 gets back up and kicks the door down to get in the basement, and now ol girl is fukkED. But when Ghostface 1 sees the new Ghostface he breaks character and is like ":wtf:Who the fukk are you?" in his real voice. Ghostface 2 fukks him up and starts carving him the fukk up, just super gruesome and :demonic: with the shyt. The girl is so shook she just watches. Ghostface 2 looks up at her and bytch thinks she's next, but dude just continues stabbing up the the OG like he's lasagna and shyt. She takes that as her cue to get the fukk out before he's finished, but when she gets out the house she collapses from blood loss or an injury or some shyt. The scene ends ambiguously - maybe she looks out the window and sees Ghostface looking at her on some:demonic:, lifts his dagger, and cleans it off.

After the credits tho, we find out not only that homegirl survived, but Ghostface 2 simply left after killing the OG and the cops showed up without her even calling them. A Detective (Either his first name is Dexter or his last name is Morgan :mjlol:) says the 911 call came from an anonymous number (or maybe the first Ghostface's phone:ohhh:). So they're starting to think maybe this second Ghostface actually saved her? Or it's trap and this is all part of his greater plan. We found that Tara, now in college, has become an activist speaking out about violence against women after her experiences and shyt, and that's made her a target. Show some neckbeard cacs harassing her and shyt :pachaha: . Accusing her of misandry since the other Ghostface was a chick and they killed more men than women :pachaha: . Sam warns her that it's best to lay low, but Tara says she's not gonna hide.

But now a slew of copycat Ghostfaces are popping up and targeting Tara, and the cops find out there's this whole radicalized group of Ghostfaces that have been recruited by some anonymous dude that are all trying to silence Tara and her feminist agenda (or they think she's leading a child sex trafficking ring :mjlol:). But they all end up being killed off by a this mysterious "other" Ghostface. Maybe a few are killed off while they're donning the masks, others are killed just chilling out of the mask and the detectives discover they were linked to the Ghostface group.

Anyway, this all leads to the end, where we learn that Sam is vigilante Ghostface, who after becoming overwhelmed with this urge to kill again decided to direct her violent impulses on deserving targets. But the thing is, we start to see that even if she's seemingly doing a "good" thing, she's really just the other side of the coin from the previous Ghostfaces...see, because SHE was the Anon that was radicalizing these copycat Ghostfaces to go after her own sister because she needed targets she would be motivated to kill. So she's orchestrated all this fukkery, put her sister in danger, and turned these dudes psycho so she could get her rocks off but not feel bad about it. Make it a bit of a commentary on QAnon and the alt right - how they recruit all these angsty disenfranchised whiteboys and make them think they're the real victims and conjure up fake conspiracies, fooling them into thinking they're finding a real brotherhood and reclaiming their power when in reality they're just suckers being grifted by a sociopath. To set up a third movie, Sam escapes but all her friends and family are:mjpls::aicmon::leostare: towards her now and it ends with her donning the mask again.

This was by far the best sequel out of the “Scream” series since “Scream 2.” I felt “Scream V” up there but this installment lowkey surpassed it. I really did enjoyed watching this and would not mind seeing it again.

If you are familiar with how this franchise goes then it wouldn’t be hard to figure out who the killer is.

Which I once again figured out in the first 20 minutes :lolbron:

I knew the cop had something to do with it. And at that point it was the process of elimination. I remember when they showed the roommate’s body my first thought was “We didn’t see her get stabbed…she is still alive..”

And I knew the other dude was apart cause he looked guilty as hell :pachaha:

They ALMOST threw me off the scent a few times but i stood strong.

When they revealed themselves I went :blessed:

And it makes sense, because they are following the pattern from the first trilogy. Part 1 it was the BF and in Part 2 it was his family.

So in Part 3 is Billy Loomis’s long lost son gonna come back and try and butcher the sisters? :lupe:

If “Scream 5” was “King’s Disease,” then ”Scream 6” is “King’s Disease 2.”

The momentum these franchise has right now is on another level that I’m not mad at. It’s pretty rare where a franchise that’s on its 6th installment still manages to find new ways to be entertaining.

If “Scream 7” is gonna be KD3 then this ”Requel” trilogy might go down as one of the GOATs..

The opening sequence was by far the best one out of all the sequels IMO.

Also..
My entire theater thought Gale was done for. The entire audience damn near cheered when Sam and Tara came in to saved her. :wow:
