Loved the scenes of the villian and his entourage gliding through the water in the go fast boats, and their luxurious dinner, the tension between some of them as the sun set, that was great. Loved Laurie's acting during the kidnap attempt scene, but the actual scene was kind of sloppy and lacked belivability. The rest of the establishing action was kind of forced, and very much falling into cliches of the genre, hero bedding every women he meets, (though it is Le Carre from a 25 year old novel, these cliches are really standards he set) and I liked the concluding scenes a lot more, though we are back in Bond villain territory, where the villain provides hospitality and gratitude to a suspicious guest.

One episode left.

Hit a few too many cliche "spy show" tropes to this point for my liking.

That said, the end of e5 has me like :lupe: waiting to watch the finale......

Finished ep 6 earlier. The show was good overall but missing something. I feel that way about all the adaptations of the author's work. Can't put my finger on it
