Does anyone think this show can last 7 years like the West Wing did or will HBO throw it in the bushes as quickly as ABC got rid of Sports Night and NBC with Studio 60?

While I like the show a lot of people who've watched other Sorkin shows and movies say they see Sorkin biting himself on almost every episode so I wonder if he even has that many topics to talk about.

Sorkin has always done that. It's like he leaves calling cards.

I'm waiting for someone named Alberto Fedrigotti :russ:

As a diehard Sorkinite....I love it

i love the newsroom but ive just started watching west wing. im only halfway through season 2 and its def west wing > newsroom for me

Newsroom is closer in subject matter to The West Wing....but in my opinion it's closer in style to Sports Night.

There are aspects of The West Wing that are like that....namely any scene with Josh/Bradely Whitford....but it's generally a more serious tone when CJ/Jed/Toby are in the scenes.

other than that, and the fact that EVERY conversation involves people speed talking but still smart enough to throw in snappy jokes without a second to think....

That isn't going to change

That is what defines a Sorkin product.

anybody noticed the black guy sticking his head out of the SUV window while jane fonda's character was shooting the scene next to the limo on the street in manhattan.

the black guy ruined the shot in the street for me. sticking his head out the window like that while they are filming. I bet you his azz was bumping rap music so everyone could hear too. :rudy:

I love how this show continues to shyt on the bullshyt they try to promote as news on a daily basis. The Casey Anthony scenario was described perfectly on the show, it's pure fukkery and shyt like that takes up time on the news when we could be hearing about things that affect each and every one of us. Don't get me wrong, that bytch deserves the needle for killing that little girl, but it should never be a priority over real issues concerning this country.

Kudos to the writers and HBO for having the balls to tackle the news like this.

dead @ the NSA guy throwing in the dark knight reference. Sorkin strikes again. LOL.

now, can I have Olivia Munn for a weekend?

Some things that I found interesting:

MacKenzie is becoming very likable.

Maggie's 'You can still see me?' line was hilarious.

Charlie is about to get leverage.

The science behind tabloid news reporting was enlightening.

Neal's trolling idea was kinda funny. :troll:

The breakdown of how absurd that Nancy Grace/Casie Anthony segment was had me like :ohhh:

Mediocre episode, but I did really like this scene.

The Jane Fonda battle should be really good.

I do want to see what these pretentious a$$holes come up with for their new debate format.
