Three episodes in and it's pretty good, certainly a lot better than expected. People online are hyping this up way too much though, calling it classic after two episodes and shyt. Same for the action and violence, yeah, it's a mature show, and in comparison to them CW/DC shows or the Marvel movies it's a whole different world, but people are acting as if this shyt is unheard of for a tv show.

What the real impressive thing here is that in terms of writing this is spot-on Daredevil. The banter between Matt and Foggy, the way he interrogates/fights criminals, the flashbacks with his father, how they portray his senses, you could pick up any good Daredevil book (think Miller, Bendis or Brubaker runs) and it's right there. I'll have to finish it before I give final judgment (especially with some of the criticisms about how Wilson Fisk is portrayed) but this might be the most accurate one-on-one translation from comics to screen.
Spot on. Regardless of what you think of the show this is a nearly flawless translation of the environment, characters, and conflicts of that world. I especially like the stuff with his dad, how it's usually placed in the middle of fights to draw parallels to their lives, much like in the comics.

Wow. Episode 4 killed it.

I will say I was a little underwhelmed by kingpin because I'm use to seeing someone of much bigger stature play him but much like bane in tdk I think it can work.

Still on episode 4 and yeah this Kingpin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>the kingpin from the original movie. That beheading via car door!!!:damn::damn::damn:

This Kingpin is so much like the comicbook version in every way from not just the intimidating look, but also the personality.:wow::banderas:

Daredevil stans are really feasting on this show. A shame this show is just a netflix series and not a full show!:mindblown:
What do you mean? It is a full show. It's just not presented in the traditional weekly tv format. I actually like this method much better than waiting week to week.

That's a bold statement, sir. :patrice:

Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of Arrow, but this show doesn't really pull any punches (literally or figuratively), doesn't get into 'goofy CW' territory and doesn't have to borrow from other characters' mythologies (League Of Shadows for example) to sustain itself.

If you take into account the counter balance it offers to the Marvel movies, it's really dope.

Just finished.

*I think it's a "good" show. It's not great show yet (Breaking Bad season 3-4, GoT, The Wire, et al), but perhaps it can become that over time. It kinda reminds me of Arrow with a lot of the themes and such and general feel (e.g. the thin line between vengeance and justice). I'm not a big Arrow fan. Oliver's character just doesn't do much for me (sorry). Daredevil is just a a much "cooler" character in my opinion, so I enjoyed it more.

* D'Onofrio being casted as Kingpin was spot the fukk on. He really killed the role.

* I'm glad he turned full heel by the end of the season. I don't like conflicted or sympathetic villains. I like my villains to be absolute and unwavering in their villainy.

* I liked that they got away from the new client a week thing that was going on at the beginning. That was the most tedious part for me. Ultimately, it was just to setup all the moving parts of the story; the proverbial chess board.

* As fukked up as it sounds, I thought the violence was really refreshing at times and well placed. At other times I thought it was just some shyt to do because they could - like when they showed dude embedding that metal through his eye. Okay? Could've used a jump cut there and got the same effect. It seemed like they were on a 2-3 curse word per episode quota or something. As fukked up a place as Hell's Kitchen is supposed to be I needed more.

* I thought the dialogue when they'd go into religious context was the best written exposition of the season: the story the priest told about seeing the devil, Kingpin and the Good Samaritan, the opening monologue and so on. When they addressed that dynamic. They did a really good job.

* The dude that played Jack Murdock was a good actor. The girl that plays Karen is a good actor too.

* Lastly, my biggest nitpick. I know Matt isn't really "blind." But, the dude playing him does a poor as job of playing "blind." Like, when he's supposed to be blind in the presence of people or whatever. I'm talking mannerisms, how he moves, how he finds and touches things (vestibular sense). It's really bad. His movements are too definitive. If I were Karen, I'd be like, "This motherfukker can see :patrice:."

i dunno breh, my cousin is blind af but he you'd think that nikka is faking sometimes too lol.

but he's also a black belt martial artist :yeshrug:
