I don't think anybody is saying every single player during Wilt's/Russell's time was 6'5" and white, just that there was clearly a bigger talent/size/color gap than there is today. Not to mention the post quoted in the OP was in retaliation to a thread made about AD's performance being a "mockery" to Wilt's ASG points record, as if Wilt didn't have A LOT of advantages, and "suspect shyt" didn't occur during his time in the league. I have no problem with @Steezy hyperbolizing his point, to point out the hypocrisy shown in that thread. Posters wanna shyt on the talent/competition of today, but ignore the past for what it truly was.People have that false narrative stuck in their heads. I've seen it addressed more than 5 times but the facts go ignored
lmao exactly. 1 tall player per team doesn't mean shyt. They were playign against scrubs just look at their highlights. its embarrassingYeah, have like ONE guy per team who is remotely close to your height, who likely lacks athleticism or skill or both, and then brag that there are tall guys around.
Rosters were looking like this and shyt:
if u can score 100 points shooting all layups cmon bruh u dont even believe thatKareem Abdul Jabbar: 7'2"
Dennis Awtrey: 6'11"
Walt Bellamy: 6'11"
Tom Boerwinkle: 7'0"
Nate Bowmen: 6'11"
Mel Counts: 7'0"
Walter Dukes: 7'0"
Jim Eakins: 6'11"
Ray Felix: 6'11"
Hank Finkel: 7'0"
Artis Gilmore: 7'2"
Swede Halbrook: 7'3"
Reggie Harding: 7'0"
Bob Lanier: 6'11"
Jim McDaniels: 6'11"
Otto Moore: 6'11"
Dave Newmark: 7'0"
Rich Niemann: 7'0"
Billy Paultz: 6'11"
Craig Raymond: 6'11"

Look what we have here
Those "clowns" as you put it are only acting in retaliation because dumb muhfukkas who're stuck in the past, shyt on the talent/competition of today - all the time. It's comical and nauseating that folk are now acting like this narrative of putting past eras into perspective is somehow the norm on this board.only clowns say that shyt. why you paying them any attention
The league lets Russell get 10.5 boards a night. And yea their stats are a dead giveaway . Aint no fukking way u should be putting up those kind of #s if u are playing against any kind of formidable opponent.
So yall saying witl would avg 50 and 30 today? FOH not even close
All you can do is play your schedule.
Westbrook would have avg 60, 20 and 20 if he played back thenThe league lets Russell get 10.5 boards a night.
So...
Westbrook would have avg 60, 20 and 20 if he played back then
Twas a joke obv. He would have put up crazy #s tho no doubt...Not true. His game wouldn't translate well to the game back then. Conversely, Russell and Wilt's respective playing styles wouldn't translate well to today's game.
You have to judge each individual played based on the era he played in.
Twas a joke obv. He would have put up crazy #s tho no doubt...
Ok im sure he could have adjusted lol. He woudl have been the best athlete on the court by far..Rules were different back then, including how one could dribble the ball and what constitutes traveling.
