You should only use the median value for data when you have a bunch of extreme outliers that skew the data.

What would be an outlier in the case of male having sexual partners? is there some king somewhere that gets to have sex with the first born of every citizen in his country? no? then there is no point using that for this study. everyman has an equal opportunity to smash. And some get more than other due to a variety of factors, being handsome, being tall, being fit, being rich, being famous, being a smooth talker ect etc.
