I watched an early release of this on Tuesday for free. I also read the book about a year ago when I was in my YA distopia phase, but forgot a lot of the details about the deaths, so I enjoyed it more than my friends who just finished reading the book.

The Maze itself is spectacular, they did a good job creating that visually. I can say that unlike other YA movies, this was mostly action and not much development of the story or character interaction. It felt like two different directors created it, the first half of the movie was good but in the last half, they tried to add some emotional connections in there that just didn't make sense in the movie (although the book went on about it). They used some soppy ass music for those emotional scenes and it ruined the later half for me.

I have no desire to read the sequel of the book, but will probably watch the movie sequel.

Can't be worse than divergent

:stopitslime: As someone who watches all these movies based on Young Adult Sci-Fi, Fantasy, or Supernatural book series I can definitely say "Divergent" is one of the better movies. It's arguably the best not counting "The Hunger Games", "Harry Potter", & LOTR/Hobbit movies.

"Divergent" has a 7/10 on IMDB & 73% from the audience on Rotten Tomatoes.
