Avatar is like Crash...people hyped it up until it was out of theaters and completely forgot about it unless it came on tv
I wouldn't go that far. Crash is an awful movie that got hyped because it was the first film to talk about race that way. Doesn't mean it as good.

Avatar was a good movie, but nothing about it was memorable. It's crazy cuz it is the number one movie of all time and was number one in theaters for a good 6 months. But I can't tell you one standout line, I don't remember who the antagonist was (was it Ribisi?), and the story itself is very cliché. It's amazingly not memorable.

true Avatar is a much better film. both just got extra overrated and somewhat exposed after the fact. i'm def surprised there hasnt been like 5 sequels by now.

There will probably be sequels and it will probably make a lot of money.

I think my big issue is that the public isn't demanding a sequel.

I still thought Reloaded was dope but the CGI doesn't stand up at all in it, it looks retarded with all the agent clones. The original Matrix is timeless.

Yeah, the Matrix sequels have aged horribly as the CGI looks very dated, there are a few moments that were great with the films:

Reloaded:
Merovingian's Goons vs Neo
The Highway Chase
Architect's Explanation of the Matrix

Revolutions:
Battle of Zion
Smith vs Neo

Other than that, the sequels tried to replicate the balance of philosophy, action, and rebellious nature of the original, but failed miserably.

The first Matrix is everything.. the sequels are some the worst movies ever made imo.

I remember the first one dropped a few months before the new Star Wars prequel dropped and it sh*tted all over the The Phantom Menace something serious

Honestly, If there was ever a reboot I would support it would be for this series. The 1st one was cool, the sequels for it from what I can remember just muddied up whatever the fukk was going on.

You can't really remake it with out changing it drastically. Its too much a product of the pre 9-11 world. The main characters are all "terrorists" and the movie totally supports them without any irony.

Something like "Mr Robot" can get away with it because it hints that the hackers might just be tools of another more evil organization, and their leader is insane.
