Y’all got to get over Shepard. shyt is legit sad. He had his trilogy. It’s over. Or it should be. Y’all just want to beat that character into the ground. It’s fine for him to appear in the new games as a reference. But he should not be the main focus.

This is something I don’t understand. How is it not better? The game plays better, looks better, has a better and more relevant story to the overall theme of the trilogy. I think people let nostalgia cloud their judgment.

Rarely have I seen a more ridiculous gaming related hot take than "Andromeda has a better and more relevant story".

It plays better, yes. Everything else is trash. Characters, story, lore, etc. All trash.

Any one of the loyalty missions in 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> literally all the writing in "Andromeda" and it's not even remotely close.
And I'm at nostalgia. 3 came out in 2012. "Andromeda" came out in 2017. You're acting like 20 years passed or something.

The real issue with doing Non-Shepherd stories in Mass Effect, is pretty much they did too good of a job with that character and especially, his surrounding cast. Mass Effect in that sense should be thought of less as a video game series, and more like a prestige drama. You can expand and explore upon the core, but you wouldn't wake up one day and decide to do a new season of a great TV show with a whole new cast and setting.

This does NOT go for every game. But this goes for this one. The cast of ME is just too good to replace entirely. Up and down they're some of the best characters in a video game ever. Give us more, yes, but taking them all away just because makes no sense. Characters like Garrus and Liara are so deep, matter so much to the world, were portrayed and used so well, starting over with characters slightly different to fill a similar role? THAT is cheap.

Man if they were like....6 games deep and wanted to swap out the cast, cool. Cats in here talking about they need new characters when we don't even know what the fukk happened to the OG cast.

Shep is alive, and the rest of the characters don't even know it. That alone is enough for another game.

I said Me3 had a better story than 2 and 1. You went on a tangent for no reason.


With that being said I do think that Andromeda story is great and better than ME1 story.

That's what I'm saying. Last time I played through the trilogy I was amazed at how much more I still wanted. Literally nothing in that universe has been exhausted. Most things in the game have barely been touched. Like for instance...the Shadow Broker. All you see even after the DLC is some emails about all this incredible shyt happening across the Universe. Imagine if you could be involved in it?

They don't have to reinvent the wheel to come up with a great story. If they actually sat down and reinvested the time in the OG trilogy to peep all the amazing story threads they left dangling they can win over and over again.

Im not mad that I’ma fan game of the game. I’m mad BioWare gave up because of people complaining. The creators of No Man Sky didn’t give up and that game was no where near as complete as Andromeda.
