Andromeda wasn't terribe to me, it just wasn't that good. Gameplay was solid but the storytelling was so 'meh' that I really didn't care about anything that was going on.
I call that the non-Milky Way effect: I really don't give a shyt about stuff that happens outisde of the MW unless there is no MWG (like in Star Wars).

They never gave you a reason to care. Everything either already happened or the supercomputer in your head would solve that problem for you.
And the cast?
Its maybe the only Bioware game where the ENTIRE party, friendly NPCs, and enemies are entirely forgettable top to bottom. Easily the worst roster they've ever pushed out.

You think Cyberpunk is going to get the same treatment in 3 months? The game will be fixed just like Andromeda was fixed.

Most of the criticisms you've seen on the page have nothing to do with its actual performance man. There were side missions that had better writing than all of Andromeda's main narrative.
Andromeda had the best gameplay in the series imo but I couldn't give a fukk about any of the characters outside the weirdo Asari girl you meet early on. The entire game felt like it was building up to a bigger threat than the kett and but it didn't until the end scene with primus, but at that point I just didn't care anymore.

smartest thing EA did with Andromeda was cut their losses and stop this team from digging the hole further.they should've killed chief too
Na man chief a G. Plenty of stuff they can still do with him and Shepard. I would be down with an arbiter game if they decided to put chief on hold for a game though
Cyberpunk problem is just the bugs. The game itself is very good. Andromeda had bugs AND wasnt good on top of that. Thats what sank it. It got panned across the board and got dropped by the fans fast as hell. Thats why all the dlc got canceled. If it had been a hit it would have had plenty of dlc. shyt i think it got multiplayer dlc but i could be wrong on that one. If they had made andromeda more like the original trilogy just with a new cast it prob would have survived.
Yeah, it got multiplayer DLC and that along with the mobile app's crossover ended up recouping a lot of the losses. Those both pulled in money because the gameplay loop there held up okay. Its also been on sale almost constantly for the past few years.
It wasn't some catastrophic loss all around like Anthem ended up becoming. The problem was the damage it did to the IP overall really.
