Luke was escorted/invited into the Emperors throne room and he was there to try and convert his father. Anakin was trying to convert Luke. Anakin turned on Palpatine when it was clear that palpatines intentions where to kill Luke instead of converting him.


At that time, before Mace barged in and got his ass beat, Palpatine did not have any way to frame and link the Jedi to him and Dookus war crimes. Mace gave them a reason. He wasn't right and that's why his homie Yoda was uneasy about his plan.

look.... palpatine had his eye on anakin since the end of phantom menace. He said so himself ... i wouldnt be surprised if he didnt trick the jedi into finding anakin.. he manipulated the force but he had no idea where the child would be born
the jedi fukked up cause anakin needed a father ... not a brother.. ben was the wrong person to train him..

and i watched it again.. mace told anakin let me ask him to give up the powers and anakin said he wont cause he a sith... so mace got some boys and went to arrest him

Which was stupid because and they've been battling Dooku, Ventress, Grievous and other powerful force users throughout the clone wars. They knew there was a powerful phantom menace in the background. What they did was rash and impatient just like they always accused Anakin of being

No but they made it easier for Palpatine to pin the war crimes of Tyrannus/Dooku and his alter ego sidious on the jedi council. They played themselves

stupid yes... the best decision yes... they needed to get to palp before he could manipulate things more. which didnt matter cause he spun maces attempt into an attack on his life..

grievous was a robot not a force user.
and they kept living on the rule of 2 which technically was not true

Ok it's almost Friday and I'm not trying to derail this thread. I'll just admit I stan Anakin/Vader and I never really liked Mace or Yoda after the prequels. I'm biased so we gonna have to agree to disagree.

It was dumb because they were no match for him. He was older, more powerful and more skilled. Make no mistake EVERYTHING that happened in that room was calculated. The Emperor could have killed Mace without Anakin. He just wanted Anakin to see how the council bends rules when it benefits them.

Mace and Yoda are Palpatine's equals and Mace had the drop on Palpatine as soon as he smashed the windows. If Palpatine was just interested in forcing Anakin's hand he wouldn't have tried to kill Mace in front of him.

Look at the videos from @Atsym Sknyfs .

Anakin walks in before Palpatine tries blasting Mace, that's why it's not the case that Anakin believes Mace has evil intentions. He walks in and hears this:

"You are under arrest, my lord "
"No no you will DIE"

When Episode III came out this was a huge debate, and George had to step in twice to clarify that Mace is Palpatine's equal and legit got him. Palpatine starts faking it after failing to kill Mace. From the words of the God himself:

In the The Making of Star Wars Revenge of the Sith, George Lucas, the creator and ultimate authority regarding the Star Wars universe, responded to the question of whether Mace Windu brought a weak group of Jedi with him for the confrontation with Palpatine by replying that "one would have to be either Windu or Yoda to compete with Palpatine," and that if Anakin had suffered none of his injuries, he could have beaten the Emperor

George in the DVD commentary:

"this scene begins with Mace overpowering Palpatine. Palpatine feigns weakness when he realizes Anakin isn't there to help Mace Windu, he came to stop him.... Initially Anakin was there from the start. I changed it so that he didn'thave enough time to think, and to make Sidious a bit more slimey"

No Palpatine beat Yodas ass and had him whimpering "hurry" to his rescue crew lol. Palpatine was cackling the entire fight. Palpatine just wanted Anakin to join in he could have handled Mace easily. Make no mistake

I agree that he beat Yoda. They're equals so each one could defeat one. This time Palpatine pulled his card. Never forget though that Palpatine tries to run away from Yoda.

Anakin seems to think Mace is more powerful than Yoda.

I agree that he beat Yoda. They're equals so each one could defeat one. This time Palpatine pulled his card. Never forget though that Palpatine starts the fight trying to run away from Yoda.

which makes sense.. yoda was called all wise even in the 80s...
yoda and mace and like theory vs practical in the workforce.. neither is better than the other..
what makes mace better is his mastery of sith style and the ability to incorporate that into his style

Lmao he was trying to give Yoda a way out. But Yoda bit off more than he could chew. He thought he was gonna do Palpatine like he did Dooku but he got fooled.

Anakin is very humble and they never seen to give the young Gawd credit for that
