Was Grogu rescued or stolen?

We know from Episode III that Palpatine was in the temple shortly after Anakin and the troops killed everyone. They either found Grogu or he was rescued. Canon-wise I think there's only one person who we know survived Order 66 while in the temple:

Jocasta Nu. That librarian from Episode II. Palpatine considers her the highest priority of the living Jedi because she has the knowledge of all the force sensitive children that the Jedi were aware of.

There's a hidden chamber in the library only the Masters were aware of (so Anakin didn't know about it) where she hid out and later escapes from. She returns to the temple to destroy the rest of the data but sees an inquisitor and cannot resist attacking him. Vader shows up and captures her.

When he finds out about the list, and that Palpatine was aware of it, he kills her and destroys the data rather then share it with Palpatine.

This is all from the VADER comics by Charles Soule. Excellent stories in there.

Now for the theory: we don't actually see her hiding out, she tells someone she did. So there is room there for her to have saved some Jedi or at least some younglings.

im gonna say rescued then stolen

in current canon
I believe its either her or palpatine.. or maybe her then palpatine. she either told Grugo to suppress his abilities or if with Palpatine he did it out of fear.

After the fall of the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic, and the rise of the Galactic Empire in their place, Nu survived the purge of the Jedi unlike many of her fellows and went into hiding, all the while attempting to preserve what she could of the Jedi. Determined to put a permanent end to the Jedi, the newly crowned Emperor dispatched his agents in the form of Darth Vader and the Inquisitorius to hunt her down, a hunt which culminated with Nu's death at the hands of Vader... says she died in 19bby

I think the tracker is in that ball that Grogu is fascinated by. I think he knows something is wrong with which is why he was focused on it at the beginning of the episode

Isn't that the knob of one of the shifters in the ship? Doubt that would be where they put the tracker

The line about his memory becoming dark makes me think carbonite freezing. If someone wanted Yoda’s species and the weakest one you could find was at the temple.

Bail Organa also showed up at the temple, so in theory Grogu could have jumped into the trunk of Bail's car when nobody was looking.
Bail Witnesses Order 66 | Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith | StarWars.com

That's doubtful, though, because Bail met up with Yoda and Obi Wan after that point to tell them he was going to adopt Leia.

EDIT:
OOO.....Unless Grogu's Jedi Mind Trick ability is SO strong he erased himself from the memory of Bail and all the other Clone Troopers that were present.

if frozen it wouldnt age..

i take that line as when he was stolen/captured and hid his powers. The empire where checking him for midichlorians the scientist mention he had high m-levels.. they wanted to use him to help palpatine..

Frozen just to get him out of the temple and sell him. You wouldn’t want a force user free to mess you up.
