Solo is one of the better Star Wars movies to be honest

What Solo really suffered from is the residual backlash from Last Jedi. Coming out so soon after that movie hurt it a lot

It's only been two years but it's aged well. It a bigger cult following than nikkas may realize
Han was terribly miscast

No Whammies!!
Rewatching the pilot now.
Based on what we know of Moff Gideon's plans, why was IG-11's order to terminate Grogu, when Mando was ordered to bring him back? That's not what you would do if you needed a blood sample.
Does that mean that somebody else hired IG-11?

I kind of suspect they weren't 100% sure where they were going when the filmed the pilot. For example, the stormtroopers with Dr. Pershing look like they can't even maintain their armor, but in the second season we see that Dr. Pershing operates out a fully-staffed secret base.
It reminds me of "The Others" in LOST. When they were introduced they were dressed like bums, but in the 2nd season they retconned it into that they were wearing disguises.

Didn't they want it dead or alive but preferred it alive. You dont hire an assassin Droid to bring something in alive. The cloning scientists seemed to be the only one who wanted Grogu alive.

brehs I don't give af about critics but it's weird that The Last Jedi has rave reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Why did the critics love that mess? At least with Rise of Skywalker it was rightfully shyt on..

What about The Last Jedi did they like?
It's a layered situation

On one end the people that do like Last Jedi like it because it took chances. Even without liking the movie I think it asks some ambitious questions of the lore. You can see the effort Rian Johnson was making versus Abrahms trying to take the easy route

The other side of it is studios got these movie reviewers by the nuts:russ: Disney caught wind of the polarizing reception and ran that audible/soft threat game on them nikkas

Most of them nikkas don't wanna lose access to screeners and exclusive events, especially if they work for a big media company.

So if you're working for a company like Vanity Fair, whether you like the movie or not you're about to be on your best behavior writing that review knowing Disney looming over you and your boss' shoulder
