So to guide this, anyone have a suggestion for 60s-70s rock? If not, I'm going to go to a "top albums" list and just pick one and post it on Sunday.

Just finished my first listen (never heard the album or band before). Good choice to lead things off, Zeu$. The drums stand out on this, and I'm not usually one to notice drums.

The only Bloc Party album worth listening to IMO, it's also the only one I still keep in rotation.. This along with Broken Social Scene's "You Forgot It In People" was one of the first albums that got me into "indie rock".. It's a shame what happened to them on the records that followed this one, it's like they lost the sense of urgency this album had.. Like Eating Glass is hands down one of the best openers I've ever heard, Matt Tong was ridiculous with it

Yeah they have some good tracks after this but the immediacy of this record was unfukkwithable. Not a weak track throughout imo.

anthems for a seventeen year old girl almost legit brought a nikka to tears once b. shyts powerful.

I have tried to get into indie rock. I have my few personal favorites but still haven't explored the genre well. Before this, I'd never heard of Bloc Party. So @Zeu$ :salute:. I haven't gotten through the whole album yet but the first half of the album was great :whoo:. High energy. Nice vocals. I find it frustrating when indie bands have great musicians and painful vocals :snoop:. I'll finish listening in the next couple days, try to listen a second time and give my final thoughts.

I've only heard a few Bloc Party tracks before. I like a few tracks on this album, but it's not really my cup of tea. I prefer albums to have some change in tempo. Going balls to the wall uptempo for an entire album gets a bit tiring, but maybe that's just me. Not a bad choice to get this started though.
