Going from TSA to Geico as far as employment is insane. That hiring process was fukking brutal but the manager said I was the best interview he's ever had. I knew my shyt. I needed the job. But the culture is so strange. They lay out all these rules from dress code to attendance to having phones out to performance and then they put a bottle in your mouth and burp you. You can literally have all 1s for your core metrics and keep your job. A supervisor told me my office has never fired anyone for performance. We are supposed to have 100% attendance and no lateness for the first nine months. There were people who were a few minutes late everyday and people missing several days or late over 30 minutes to an hour and the Mgr of Training and the head of the office were like "things happen." We got a spiel from our sup about phones and how they aren't tolerated but people have their phones out and sups are like let me see what my side piece is doing. We have so many random casual days for this that and the other people just show up in what they want. Only day people are dressed up are Mondays. OT is unlimited and you don't even have to work the block assigned. If you can only do 30 minutes they'll take what they can get. We only have 800 of the 1500 adjusters we need for that office and the whole company plans to double in size. We're near the bottom or last in customer surveys (like 73% excellent and 15% very good) and the managers send an e-mail out like "moving on up! " I'm not complaining but this company is weird as fukk. Manager came out there and said you have a job for life basically if you show up and take calls. Don't worry about the numbers everything is coachable. When you got $22 billion in reserves and Warren Buffet behind you they're like fukk it.

The flip side is that I have over 500 claims assigned to me of which about half are open. You're supposed to work your diary (files) between calls but that shyt is like two seconds in between sometimes. I work OT every Sunday because it's dead and I can whittle my files down. And for those who hate on black women, most of your adjusters are black women, from my level of liability (auto prop damage/0 or 100 liability) on up to liability dispute experts/first party med adjusters, liability dispute expert/bodily injury adjusters, to liability expert/third party fatalities, et al.

And I'm drunk so I'm rambling about my job.
