i looked at two threads-
the "i don't like educated women" one :usure:
and the "95 emails" :francis:
and a story came to mind..
:lupe:now let me say..
i used to be 100% pro-education
but recent observations in last 10 years
now i think there are a lot of bullshyt degrees out there:aicmon:
currently i am more like 80-90% pro-education
because people waste their lives hiding in school
never learning any useful skills- either critical thinking or practical know-how :snoop:

:ufdup:case in point-
from my inbox (which is still swamped with unread mail but i am catching up)

my men's group had a problem where the caterer was overcharging:wtb:
so i was drafted to be the refreshment chair:beli:
and got 5 guys on my little committee
we need to plan the next 12-18 months
and we need to be budget conscious (for the good of the group):shaq2:
cause we've had some other expenses/setbacks
and had to dip into our reserves

anyway :shaq2:
my first email was "okay brehs, the size of our group is X, average attendance is Y
if you know of any restaurants or services that will cater to Z range
go get some quotes and share back
personally i'm gonna get quotes from these 3 places"

so we had 7 quotes in all
but this one motherfukker.. younger guy
who has a b.a., 2 x m.a., and is thinking of a doctorate
because he only makes $11/hr
sent about a dozen emails to us!!!
"brainstorming" he called it- but never managed to get a single quote:troll:

so based on the prices, i said to group-
now we need to consider do-it-yourself:francis:
so i kind of looked at the catered quotes
and made up a list of a similar amount of food
sent that out to the group-
and said "does this seem reasonable, or suggest adjustments"
:yeshrug:2 guys said it was cool
2 suggested changes
and the "educated" guy typed up 1700 words
reflecting on the catered options
still "brainstorming" where we could get quotes
still "sharing" stories of other ways we could cater our events
and started talking about creating new events (???):russ:
(breh, we are just the refreshment committee.. )

so i went to costco and target, priced out the new-and-improved food list
came back with a spreadsheet (which i attached)
then i typed a message- i summarized the best 2 quotes
then summarized my shopping list and said-
okay, we can save the group this much if we self-cater:ehh:
for the good of our group, we need to make this happen
i am willing to shop the food each time (a major commitment):mjcry:
can i count on the five of you to help cook/prep the food before each event??
two message back "absolutely":blessed:
two said "sure, except for x and y dates":obama:
..then that overeducated motherfukker sends a 2600 word message:why:

it'd be one thing if he were dropping knowledge or breaking new ground
but this was prolix drivel
i would think the motherfukker was :troll: but he's not clever enough:wtf:
so i just reply-all and said "is that a yes??":youngsabo:
and he wonders why he can only get a job making $11/hr:scusthov:

re-enforce a mindset where..
if you just pad out your prose with unnecessary paragraphs
you'll at least get a "B" for effort
i mean, i didn't write nonsense that like when i was taking bluebook exams for freshman philosophy
it is pathetic

You can be here today and gone tomorrow...... R.I.P boom.... Its funny though.. Because death Is always around... But when it hit close to home it affects you in ways that you wouldn't believe.... I lost two people this years who I knew for years...Life aint no joke man... Living in Chicago you become use to death and violence.....I'm live my life to fullest tho.. And try be happy and successful as much as I can. I'm try not to let bullshyt get to me or come between what's important.. Y'all cherish y'all family and friends... Because your never know when your last breath A be

My mom's friend is a director at this company and she recently had to let two employees go because of performance issues. One made $95k an the other was over $100k. :dwillhuh: So I sent her an email asking if she had any openings on her team :lupe: The company is in PA but I think you only have to go in the office once a week or something, the rest is remote. I like my job but I need the money. :feedme:
