People don't get the purpose of criticism. Movie quality is a an inherently subjective thing. Yes we have general standards we all agree on, but you can't objectively say a movie is good or bad.

It's all conversation, and the job of critics is to provide a more experienced voice in that conversation as they see a lot of movies and many of them have even studied film. Folks don't want to see it that way though. They use shyt like RT to position critics as trying to provide some kind of objective measure, and are mad when they disagree.

Just saw it. I kept hearing and reading bad things and they were not wrong. I thought the movie was absolutely horrible.

At his age, James didn’t have the same command and delivery as Mufasa.

None of the actors clicked with me, it’s not even the nostalgia factor because I enjoyed Aladdin but they weren’t hitting. Donald was bad, beyonce was cringeworthy with her robotic voice and delivery.

They took out a lot of the comedy from this compared to the animated. I loved the hyenas in the animated, I missed the classic line “cactus butt”.

Chiwetel as scar was good, nothing special.

Timon and pumba stole the movie.

This gotta be 4 out of 10, I only give it a 4 because visually it was beautiful and kid simba was great.

This is in line with what I've been seeing people say. The actors just completely shyt the bed.

I probably wont be seeing this unless my sisters drag me to it. The Lion King is like my older sister's favorite movie.

The Lion King was the Frozen of the 90s and that's probably underselling it.
