I don't see what other choice TBS had far as the media deal goes. Look thru the guide and most days all those motherfukkers show is Friends all morning and Big Bang Theory all afternoon, and some Young Sheldon and Modern Family with some movies mixed in, not much else. Dynamite prolly the only original programming they got, except maybe Impractical Jokers which I see their season just ended and they on TruTV as well. Not sure what their ratings are.

They killed all of their original shows almost. I'm still heated about Southland

Too expensive these days for cable networks to produce TV shows.. even broadcast TV has scaled way back. They put out game shows and reality TV lol

Yeah true. Now with streaming it changed the game cuz they can provide content to all over the world instead of just domestically like the cable networks. It seems like more and more the network sitcoms even are dieing.

Netflix at over 275 million. TBS at 90 million, 3 times as much. They can't compete with more subscribers and revenue, just try to hold their own. Shoot even Max only has about 75 million. And that's likely worldwide so who knows US numbers where AEW will be on.

I know Verizon has a discount for Max. Not sure who else may offer one but that could help get new people in when AEW starts. The good thing is it's not strictly an AEW service and has other content to lure and keep subscribers.

As of Q2 'Max' has 103 million subscribers now. Not all of them are going to be able to watch AEW right away because AEW has TV contracts in other countries to be honored. For comparison sake, 'Peacock' has over 33 million subscribers and I'd argue that it's done wonders for WWE even though I preferred the old WWE Network.

I don't know if 'Max' will help grow AEW's fan base but they will be available in a lot more homes now than they previously were.
