Damn I wish they would hurry up with the translations and ports. Reverie came out in 2020 but we ain't supposed to get it until 2023. They expect us to wait until 2030 to catch up to the current story while they still releasing new games on a damn yearly basis?

Not having Zero and Azure before definitely hurt. Usually, we only get hit with a 2 year wait time, but Reverie got pushed back since it relies on those two crossbell games.

I do think we will get Kuro 1 in late 2024 and Kuro 2 in 2025 on PS4/PS5 in terms of localizations. (Switch and PC might 3-6 months longer wait since they got to make the ports themselves when they localize)

They will never catch up. Falcom will continue to release games in Japan and because these games take so long to localize there's always going to be a 2-3 game difference between the countries. This is compounded by the fact that Falcom doesn't let localization for the west begin on any game until the game is done and released in Japan.

The proper solution would have been to sell the rights of Zero and Ao to a different company and have NISA continue with the main series. Either that or have Falcom go into the business of localizing their own games. I get that Zero and Ao matter to the plot in some ways but they're not gonna sell jack shyt and it's just going to further suppress the series growth. We're talking about them selling a new PS4 game to the west in 2024 or so 4 years after the PS4's successor was released. They'll probably have it on PS5 too but the base of the game is built for the PS4.

Meanwhile Atlus grew Persona from a series that didn't really move a million a game to having the latest game in the series sell likely more than the entire Trails series combined and they only release them every 6 or so years now.

Renne leaped from my least favorite character in the whole series in Sky Second Chapter to my favorite character in Cold Steel IV. Glad to see her getting more screen time in Kuro.

Personally I thought Hajimari and Kuro 1 were great and I look forward to replaying them when they are localized.

Obviously upset that I got to wait 3 years to play Kuro II but my backlog is big enough at this point lol.

It sucks to hear about the fan translations patches being taken down. I wish they could get it localized quicker so that it wasn't necessary for those fan patches but it is what it is.

As a QoL change yes. It’s actually a really good one in that. Makes dungeon crawling so much better where it was awful in the previous.

To your second point. When you put it like that makes it sound really bad since that PSP game is being retailed at $50.

The battle system kind of confuses me could you break it down a bit? Cause it looks like an arpg but then it switches to a turn-based battle system like older cold steels except with a little bit more movement. Can you switch between them at will or is it a forced change? Does this apply just for random encounters or can it apply to major battles as well?

I done had Cold Steel 3 on deck for like 4 months, after I burned through/150+ hour'ed both parts 1 and 2.

it's not that I don't wanna play it, I think I just..... don't wanna beat the game even though I haven't started?

does that even make sense?

I think I got to familiar/attached to the cast from 1 and 2
