Ironically, the best female characters in the CS arc aren't playable. Vita, Rosine, Aurelia, etc. Tho Sara is easily the best out of the playable bunch.

Sara is a good pick imo. She was a great character in 1 & 2. Easily the best from class seven in those games. And solid in the other 3 games.

If we are putting personal picks aside. She is one of the 4 girls that makes sense given how the game progresses with the story and what happens in bonding events.

To this point YESSSSS! Look, Rean in CS 1+2 + Reverie is solid don't get me wrong. But the whole self-insert thing is too dull in such a narative driven series that Trails is. Him and Lloyd have the same issue. Tho Lloyd doesn't have the lows that Rean's character development had.

Estelle, Kevin, Reverie C and Van bring such a different dynamic than those two bring that Imo Rean and Lloyd don't compare to these 4. Granted, those 4 are all great JRPG protagonists. Granted, this is only 1 game with Van since he will have at least 2 more.

It basically is the PSP game just with nicer visuals and that's it. There is no English voice casting for Zero and Azure. Like the games are easily some of the best in the series, especially Azure. But asking for $50 is way too much. Since if you had the geofront patch before that got taken down and just buy the chinese version of the game for $10-20. I bought the Collectors Edition because I love the series, but a classic case of corporate greed.

It makes recommending this series so hard. Because of how they did Kuro you need to play all the old games first. (Basically Reverie and Sky trilogy are needed to be played first.) With cold steel and crossbell for either of those arcs you could at least jump into those without Sky especially since Sky is only available on PC.

Lloyd and Rean aren't all that similar. Lloyd is more a traditional shonen protagonist. Young, somewhat excitable, dense, passionate, strong sense of justice.

Rean is a traditional light novel romcom protagonist. He's a passive doormat who is nice to everybody and tries to be as unoffensive as possible. Rean isn't dense and is smarter than Lloyd. Lloyd is a natural born leader with charisma. Rean is pushed into a type of leadership role but his temperament doesn't make him one. He gets showered with accolades and praise because he's the player character not because of how he conducts himself. People follow Rean because the story says they should not because he is an inspiring character. Lloyd believable sparks passion in others to follow him.

Lloyd is closer to Estelle than he is Rean. Tone down her spunk a little and make her male and you have Lloyd. About the only think Lloyd and Rean have in common is having a harem.

In Cold Steel IV
You play as them in the final dungeon when the cast splits into team, I just got around to trying to finish that game, series burned me out, the story turned into trash, the battle system has worn out it's welcome, and they dragged the shyt out way too long

Got Trails From Zero ( Legally this time :troll:)

Azure should be released around the end of Feb according to online retailers.


Hogwarts Legacy and Like A Dragon: Ishin come out at around the same time. Gonna be a busy month.

To me that’s the best game of that sub series. I didn’t dislike Cold Steel IV like a lot of others but half of that last game kinda drags. Until the game gets to that midway point it’s aight. Past that especially if you played all the prior games it’s pure amazing fan service.
