Its going to take time for me to get through the point that some of Abby's weapons are "weak". Guess pipe bombs are supposed to just stun the enemies so you can run up and strike them? I was expecting them joints to be as strong as the mines Ellie can use to fukk up them dogs. And it seems harder to one hit kill with the crossbow.
Just finished this.
What do I do with the rest of my summer in the crib now. Suggest me some other shyt!
I just copped my PS4 maybe about a month and change ago in the middle of quarantine here in NYC. I finished TLOU, TLOU 2, Spiderman, Got all the major sporting games (Madden, 2K and the Show). Got GOW, maybe I should start that next. I'm fukking with Naughty Dog though. I thought all them nikkas did was Crash Bandicoot games. Glad I copped this shyt.
Got a lot I want to say but don't feel up to typing right now, so I'll just touch briefly on the writing & gameplay. I will say that while I felt the ending was a bit anticlimactic, I appreciate what they were going for and FWIW, the point of the narrative wasn't lost on me. Once the credits rolled, I felt what I assumed Ellie was feeling; melancholy, hope, and emptiness. The thirst for revenge is a human emotion, but what price are you willing to pay? The toll is often steep. Thinking about all that both sides lost in the pursuit of revenge genuinely made me sad. It's even more poignant when I admit to myself that even knowing the cost these characters paid, I can't say I wouldn't do the same if I were in their shoes.
God damn -- we're seriously flawed, but I think thats the point.
I came to really like Abby & Lev, and found myself rooting for them during the final fight, a task I thought would be impossible three hours in. This game was also more challenging than the original (at least on Survivor.) The a.i. was much more sporadic and spontaneous in their patrol paths, and the combat was much "heavier." You really have to immerse yourself and think tactfully in these encounters in order to get the most out of them. I think I died more in one particular encounter late game than I did across two combined Grounded playthroughs on the OG. Great way to close out the generation. I'll definitely replay this on the PS5.
Edit:
fukk Manny. Spitting on Joel was extra. I didn't feel a damn thing when he got his.
