I’m stuck on this bullshyt sniping/flashback segment w/ Tommy. I think my game is broke because the bullets won’t hit the damn runners by the ski lift. Anyone get stuck on this

I was on that for minute :russ:

Aim up so the bullets drop, it’s not a straight shot sniping

On the 2nd Day 1 and I kind of see where some of the complaints are coming from. Instead of being morally ambiguous, it feels like the game just can't commit more than anything.

But let me actually finish the game before I give all of my thoughts

This game is dead ass getting a “Last Jedi” like backlash from gaming fans :mindblown:

Critics love it and nerds HATE it :gucci:

Wild
I would have preferred a straight Ellie focused revenge game
That's what I was expecting and waited 7 years for
No one asked for a MGS2
Some people loved it, some people like it, and some people hate this game
A standard revenge story would have been better even if Joel died
Too bad they did a poor job of characterizing Abby helping turn her into the one of the most hated characters in history
I didn't mind Abby's section but the subversion of expectations in terms of story and game layout were unnecessary as I thought her sections shouldn't have been half the game
I would rate this game a 9/10
Improves on the 1st game in every way except for story
Story is good but has weaknesses
An analogy would be if Raiden killed Solid Snake in MGS2 in a way that goes against his personality, only to play as Raiden for half the game
Never happened but if it did
I'm on my 2nd play through and still wish Ellie's sections were the majority or all of the game because it is cool playing as her blowing people up with explosive arrows :snoop:
Only replaying so I can replay chapters/encounters with weapon and character upgrades and would prefer if it were mostly or all Ellie :yeshrug:

The more I replay this game the less I care for its story
I would rate the story a 7/10
Something is missing

I finished the game last night and I was literally confused on why nerds were pissed. Most likely because they had to play as a woman.

It’s been 7 years after the first game and Joell wasn’t really a “beloved” character on some Nathan Drake, or Lara Craft, or even a Mario :mindblown:

So i don’t get how nerds are THAT mad.

I did not mind it at all. The duel stories of Ellie and Abby being consumed in vengeance made them just as evil and mindless as the infected. By the end of the game Abby and Ellie lost everything. Abby lost her father, her friends, and her people. Ellie lost her only father figure and the love of her life.

Ellie not fulfilling her revenge was fitting. Because at her core it isn’t who she is. She isn’t Abby.

This creators had balls to pretty much make 2 games into one. And I found that quite Intriguing in my opinion.
I think the most interesting part about both games is the cycle of violence:
Joel is an angry motherfukker who finds redemption for saving Ellie, but kills others to do so and ruins their lives (Fireflies/Abby).

This sparks Abby becoming an angry bytch and killing Joel, screwing up the lives of Ellie/Tommy. It doesn't fix Abby's hatred, she only finds redemption for herself by saving Lev.

Ellie becomes an angry bytch because of Joel's murder and goes down the same path as Abby, bringing pain onto her foes (and indirectly her friends). She is so consumed by hate that even when she does the right thing (saving Abby and Lev's from certain death on the cross) it is for the purpose of getting her own revenge. As she let's them go, she feels defeated even though her actions could be seen as the same act of redemption, but she is not in that stage yet.

Ellie changed Joel. Lev changed Abby. Dinah and her child could not change Ellie yet. But after getting back to the farm, she might.

AND FOLKS ARE TRYING TO TELL ME THAT STORY IS TRASH :damn:!!!
