I think it was the fireflies. They said they were located in the same spot that Owen told Abbie about before. When the fireflies told Abby where they are, she told lev “Owen was right.” I don’t think it’s a coincidence. They just happened to get caught in a trap by the ratters. Also the new Screen once you beat the game has Abby’s boat at the new shore. So it’s assumed she got to where she needs to be and is gonna meet the fireflies

Some of the nasty out of place story stuff is skippable thankfully but you really gotta appreciate the flashbacks forgot Ellie didnt know how to swim in the first one
