Question about the last part of the game...
In Santa Barbra when Abby and Lev find the abandoned base in the basement of that house and send a radio message out to one of the frequencies...The guy who replies to them, was that an actual firefly or one of the Rattlers pretending to be one in order to set them up?

I can't lie certain parts of this game had me straight screaming like a bytch lol.

I can't lie, them fungus growth on the wall always gave me the heebie jeebies.
I don't think they really say one way or the other. I thought about it being Rattler when Lev got his clock cleaned, but them insinuating Lev and Abby made it to their location makes me think it was really the Fireflies

Rewatching that part again, i think you're right. The Rattlers were probably just listening in

I'd be more inclined to think it was the Rattlers had they actually made it to where they was told to go and then got ambushed but because they got jumped as soon as they left the house I feel they were just being watched by Rattlers the whole time they was on that street. It's almost like them getting squadded on straight after the call was done on purpose to make us think they were being set up.
As you say we're not really told or given any indication of who they were actually talking to so thats leading me to think it could be one of those small seemingly insignificant moments that could prove to be crucial for the narrative of the next game (if they make one of course) - kinda like how Joel killing the doctor in TLOU1 turned out to be a crucial moment for TLOU2's story.

The main screen after you beat it changes and shows their boat at Catalina. I don't think they would show them there, and then in a hypothetical 3, come back and say it was actually the Rattlers back at SB. Unless the Rattlers are also in Catalina in 3, which is possible, but I'm good with them leaving all that behind if they do a 3.
Honestly I'm good ending it where they did, but if they do a 3 I trust it would be worth it
