I think I'm very close to finishing it, will try to do it tomorrow. Can't wait to have open discussions about everything that happens in this damn game :wow: There's 1 thing I legit thought was fukking brilliant

after playing as Abby, "finding out" that Ellie was the one that killed Owen (and Tommy killing Manny) because of a grudge you didnt give a single thought for those crazy 3 days felt so damn out of left field.

Like, you've been worried about Scars and WLF bullshyt, saving a couole kids, all the while surviving all kinds of nightmare scenarios... And this Kid that you let live months ago comes back, slaughters your friends and starts taking about Joel and the fireflies... Like :dahell: :why: as Abby you feel like this not a fight worth fighting for. It's all just anger snd dispair.

The "but, we let you live" line hits so fukking hard that second time :wow:

The one thing a I didn't like so far was
The boss fight against Ellie. By that point in the game I felt bad for all parties involved but I ain't got no fukking motivation to fight Ellie, much less try to beat her up and kill her.

I get the game forces you to do shyt you feel uncomfortable with all the damn time but at that stsge of the story it felt like too much.

Ellie being a beast and dying at her hands multiple times had me :russ: but that was the only psrt of the game I just wanted to skip past it.

Agreed on the horror being :sadcam: waaaay scarier than part 1.

Actually enjoyed it a lot. WAY too much of the combat loop for my liking, and the whole biting off fingers could of been cut. It was a bit too cartoony. Shame Joel got shyt on, but he always can get his own side game. So, the whole piss contest with Joel is completely overboard and short sighted.

After you beat it start a new ganme plus....you start with everything from your first run.

whoa really?
The only thing I hated about new game plus on the original was you kept all of your upgrades, but you could still only get your guns back when you reached that specific point again

Abby built like brock Lesnar and chokes out flickers. Ellie is a skinny 19 year old. This like a chihuahua vs a pit bull :heh:

Mannnn.... It's a good thing we played as Abby, because going through the Hotel and then the Hospital right after? There's absolutely no way Ellie could've solo'd that, even with her immunity. :merchant: What in the fukk was that new enemy?!?! :damn:

Abby's physical strength is what saves her ass on numerous occasions. But real talk? All of Day 2 has been fire. Why do people claim to not like Abby's portion, what the fukk?! :mindblown: Her part is probably some of the best shyt I've ever played. You went from rescuing the kids, to jumping through probably 200 floors of infected, to fighting a whatever-the-hell that was... All in one day. The day before? Leave from the Wolf base secretly and fight your way through Seattle, get captured, run through the forest for your lives, rummage through a ferry on a sea and swim through the turbulent waters in order to reach the aquarium.

This is quite literally GOAT material, and I really do not understand why people complain, except for maybe the "humanizing Abby" part... But I mean, Ellie sounds like a monster too from the other perspective. An immune girl on the hunt for revenge, on her own? Ellie sounds like a gotdamn one-woman army. They're similar and I do see the parallels, but man I really wonder how this is gonna wrap up. Day 3 now, so it's finally time to get caught back up to where we see Ellie. I'm excited.

regarding what you said about Joel, this is how I’m feeling so far...if you look at this with fixated tunnel vision on Joel’s murder you’re going to struggle to get past certain aspects, if you take a step back and look at the entire story and ALL of its pieces you’ll appreciate it a lot more

Exactly, and that's why I'm loving it so much. Joel is not the saint people make him out to be, and even the first game calls you out on what he does. They make it perfectly clear that saving Ellie from a moral standpoint is wrong, but it's understandable because of the implications of Joel losing his "daughter" a second time. When you go 20 years without really connecting to anybody, only to connect with some bratty kid who somehow is the cure humanity, but can only do so by dying... Most people wouldn't send Ellie off to her death like that. But even so, you definitely feel like you've just potentially doomed all of humanity.

Even with Joel eventually telling Ellie what happened, he never mentioned the details. Maybe Ellie thinks Joel just snuck her out instead of murdering everyone in the Firefly hospital. If Ellie found out during Joel's confession that he not only doomed humanity for her, but he also killed everyone in the hospital including Marlene? That would change her whole perceptive of him and paints him in a completely different light. Even though it's for your sake, you still wouldn't want people dying on your behalf.

So when Abby is like, fukk you, I want revenge, it makes absolute sense. This is the result of what one man's selfishness can do. Once he killed that surgeon in the operating room and unhooked Ellie from the machines, his fate was sealed. Ellie doesn't understand this though (from where I am right now), so of course she's going to be confused, but Abby isn't wrong in how she feels at all. This is the world they live in, and that's the price of putting your own desires first instead of what was for the good of humanity.
