Wait... Don't tell me THIS is what got folks upset?? :mjlol: C'mon. This is great writing, and damn was this bold. So Abby's pops is the same guy you end up shooting to save Ellie. :mindblown: And the worst part was, WE pulled the trigger ourselves. Gotdamn, that is bold. I am officially impressed so far. Wow. This absolutely made sense as to why things happened the way they did.

I really like that in Ellie's side, you gradually see her lose her mind and becomes more selfish on the quest for revenge. To her, the WLF are a terrorist militia. But to Abby... They're her friends that try to save innocent people. Although we know they're not without sin because via Ellie's experiences, we see how they treat deserters -- they'll hunt you down. But it all goes to show that in this world, there's rarely Good vs. Evil. Just perspectives and wanting to do right by the people you care about.

I also really like that when going back to "That Scene", they tie up the loose ends in regards to keeping both Tommy and Ellie alive. Mel was all for killing them, but everyone else said not to, because they wouldn't "be any better than Joel". TLOU2 really makes you feel like Joel saving Ellie was the wrong choice, even though it was a completely understandable one. It absolutely paints Joel as a selfish "villain" in many people's eyes, but objectively... This is how most people would see it. We sympathize with Joel because we've seen his story play out, but if you were to read a news article about a man bringing an immune girl to a hospital where they could possibly come up with a cure... Only for him to doom humanity by "saving" her AND killing every single Firefly in that hospital.. We'd be calling him an absolute monster. I completely understand.

Wow. I really love what they're doing here, and I really am looking forward to seeing how the rest plays out. I can't stop being impressed at the move. Wow. :wow:

I don’t mind Abbys character, She does not have to be THAT buff tho lol, they coulda just made her a bit bigger than ellie and have her look more cut, she’s built like vin diesel and looks crazy when you stand next to another NPC :mjlol:

Yeah, like I don't even think military women are THAT swole. :heh: They'd probably be like what you said, Ellie but slightly bigger and more toned.

It looks wild though because you have Manny there with her chilling, and he looks like your average dude, while Abby's out here on her Broly shyt. :mjlol: But I do like her character. Seems to be your typical militia girl who's seen action.

I'm taking my time. I'm only on seattle day 2 the seraphites, and on my way to the hospital. The tension in this game does not let up:wow:. Just when you think you're safe and you're going to have some time to decompress, NOPE. You're walking down the street, you break a window to do some exploring, and then across the way you hear that shriek of a clicker and you're like fukk man. This shyt again. On top of that this shyt made me uneasy especially with what's going on in Seattle right now with CHAD, and the WLF in the game:russ:.

I still don’t get how people find the first game’s story more “captivating”. It was literally an escort mission from point a to point b, with a few bumps on the road and characters growing closer. That’s as simple as a story can get, and has been done multiple times. TLoU is probably my goat when it’s all said and done, but it certainly isn’t because the story was captivating or groundbreaking. It’s execution stood out though.

For the sequel they are attempting a nuanced looked at violence and forcing the player to confront biases they had/have about characters they have on a pedestal. Of course this has also been done many times before, but, objectively, it’s a more compelling premise than escort mission. Now if people argue that they didn’t like it for abcd reasons, cool. But to say the first game’s story was more captivating is just weird to me.

Opinions and all, I guess.

I think a lot of people are mainly mad this isn’t a self contained story on Ellie & Joel like the first one, this one is pretty much the 2nd season of a good tv show...bigger scope with world building and seeing shyt from different angles

a lot of people hated the 2nd season of the wire because they didn’t like all of the focus not being on the thing that made them love the show to begin with...The Streets/Avon ect.
