When Michael retired the Bulls won 55 games and he was a top MVP and DPoY candidate and All-Star game MVP.

Jordan was the G.O.A.T. scorer and was an alpha and the center of the offense. Pippen's responsibility was on defense and as a playmaker while being a secondary scorer. A guy like Kyrie his role was to be a scorer. It's also not true and not very common with LeBron. There were some games where Kyrie and D-Wade scored as much but to say it was common? Nah. LeBron+Kyrie/Wade would have games they avalanched teams together like Jordan/Pippen but to say they took over or carried LBJ that's BS. The only year you can point to is 2011. In game 3 of the 1993 ECF down 2-0, Michael shot 3 of 18 but Pippen scored a super efficient 29 and the Bulls beat the Knicks by 20. In game 6 of the 1992 Finals, Pippen led a 15 point comeback with MJ on the bench. I can't recall any of LeBron's teammates doing that, in fact it was LeBron who led a 26 point comeback against Indiana in '17 with Love and Kyrie on the bench. LeBron who swept Atlanta and took the Warriors to 6 games without Kyrie or Love. D-Wade while fighting knee drains was often carried by LeBron. Bosh was scoring 0 points in game 7's of the Finals. Love had a concussion and was a shell of himself in '16 and was pretty much carried.

Pippen was an athletic point forward with a late growth spurt and high work ethic. I don't know why y'all acting like dude couldn't have been a great player without Jordan, it's like y'all think MJ made him when dude off his own raw natural talent was a top 5 pick and he came out an NAIA school.
Just a whole bunch of bullshyt to add to the "Bron had no help" narrative:unimpressed:

Scottie is simultaneously one of the most overrated and underrated players in NBA history. If you are riding for Mike, he was just some scrub that Mike carried to 6 rings. If you are riding against Mike or just trying to be contrarian, he's the most skilled player ever and on par with Shaq (yes people tried to push this during the 3peat days). In reality he was the perfect number 2 for a dominant scorer like Mike, better than all the other #2s in the league and some ones and proved that he could be the man on a playoff team but he definitely benefitted from playing with Mike and had certain limitations that prevent him from being an all time great 1.

I've always felt Pippen was overrated.Phenomenal role

player/Swiss army knife, but his greatness is overstated.

I think he was the same level as players like Iggy,Shawn

Marion, Paul George.Somewhere around there. The anti-

Jordan crowd loves to prop him up in an attempt to dimi-

nish MJ's greatness.
You can also say, Jordan fans have been trying to diminish Pippen greatness, like in this very thread, to prop up Jordan:patrice:

I bet Scottie got shyt he could have aired out MJ about that would have been true...MJ knucklenuts would have called Pippen worse shut. But MJ says it and you get "facts" & "it's true" certain shyt dont need to be revisited.

Somewhere tropic...
Scottie's contribution to the Bull's legacy can't be applauded enough. Especially defensively.
But truth be told, and as we've all seen in later years :comeon:
nikka is a lame on his own, and needed that alpha male presence in his life

Nikkas in here are really blaming 34 yr old Pippen for the 00 Blazers losing :russ::russ:

Pip was the elder statesman on that team and had a bunch of championship experience(I know Detlef Schrempf was on that team, but he didn't have the level of gravitas Pippen had).

That Blazers team had enough to beat the Lakers, they needed someone to calm the kids down when they were up 15 and had the Lakers on the ropes in Game 7 and Pippen couldn't do it.

What's interesting is I was old enough to watch that game live and it was made a big deal that MJ visited Ron Harper before that game 7 and not Pippen... I don't think MJ wanted him to win and get one more ring than him
